Vizio P50 HDM

The first thing to understand about the Vizio 50-inch P50 HDM is that it's a plasma HD monitor, not a full-fledged plasma HDTV. This means that it forgos an analog NTSC tuner and a digital ATSC tuner, instead requiring an external tuner to display any...

Low price Easy to set up

No NTSC or ATSC tuner Image quality could be better

Vizio's 50-inch P50 HDM plasma HDTV monitor doesn't require the same cash outlay as a full-fledged plasma HDTV. However, if you're on a budget and don't mind messing with external tuners, check out Maxent's MX-50X3. Like the Vizio, the Maxent 50-inch...

Excellent value. Good image quality with standard and high-definition video. Clean, easy-to-navigate menu system.

Slight banding artifact (false contouring) in dark scenes. Some scaling issues with 1080i video sources.

The Vizio P50 HDM is the least expensive 50-inch plasma display I've seen to date, and I came away impressed by its good overall picture quality and selection of A/V inputs. Although not perfect, its few flaws are easier to accept knowing that it's an ama

The JV50P plasma does not have a 1080p resolution ; The TV does only an average job of displaying standard-definitioncontent and may not be the best choice for someone who still watches alot of SDTV ; The inclusion of just one digital audio input means...

TheJV50P "Jive" system is a good choice for the person who primarilywatches HD programming and wants a simple, non-intrusive surround soundsolution. It's a good fit for a smaller living room or as a secondarysystem for a bedroom or den.

Vizio VP50HDTV 50" Plasma TV

Vizio has quickly established a reputation for outrageous flat-panel bargains at big-box retailers such as Costco and Sam's Club. At the same time, many of its products offer some serious bang for very few bucks. At a list price of only $1500, the...

It may seem that I’m being hard on the VP50HDTV, but in the context of its ridiculously low list price of $1500 (half the price of the most expensive plasma in this survey), the drawbacks are relatively minor, and its less-than-perfect performance can...

Vizio JV50P Review – 50-inch Plasma HDTV

In the tests we conducted, the image quality of the JV50P remained excellent throughout – it is comparable to most mid-priced plasmas. We didn't encounter any signs of ghosting, and the wide viewing angle ensured that picture remained saturated. It...

Vizio JV50P Jive Plasma HDTV

VIZIO JV50P Plasma HDTV Video Review

With a 15,000:1 Contrast ratio, the picture quality on the 720p JV50P was consistently strong when displaying HD content. Persnickety videophiles may wish to check out the more expensive new breed of 1080p plasmas.

The VIZIO JV50P is a meat and potatoes HDTV. It wouldn't be my first choice for a home theater. But for the price, this 50" plasma, with a 5.1 surround system thrown in, would be a great addition to a game room.

Test Bench: Vizio P50HDTV 50-inch Plasma HDTV

The component-video inputs, in contrast, showed only a mild -5% red error. Red and blue color points proved reasonably accurate, although green measured as more of a yellowish green.

Great price

Some false-contouring artifacts

It wasn't all that long ago that I found myself amazed at the prospect of 42-inch plasma TVs dipping below $2,000. But now that the Vizio P50HDTV 50-inch plasma HDTV has hit the streets, I'm going to have to adjust to the idea of 50-inch models selling...

The Vizio P50HDTV: A Quality 50" Plasma for under $2,000

While no longer such a great deal, Chris Iannicello thinks Vizio's 50" plasma is still a lot of HDTV for the money.

When using the HDMI cable, the sound quality of the integrated speakers was sufficient, but no better or worse than other television speakers in this price range. Once thing to be aware of is there is a considerable amount of fan noise coming from the...

Vizio P50HDM Plasma TV Review

Vizio may not be a big name among the other big giants of the Electronic Industry but their High Quality and Low Priced Electronic products are catching popularity among the consumers like me whose High End Home Theater has to be under a strict budget....

There may be some minor non-critical drawbacks on this monitor but keeping in view its many high end features, excellent picture quality and an extremely low price of $2,299.00 this should be a welcome choice for every home.
