Vizio M601d-A3R review review

Like the Vizio M551 before it, the Vizio M01 is a competent budget television with a high level of performance. It forgoes some features -- like MHL and touch-panel remotes -- and sometimes others don't work, like learning remote codes, but what the...

The Vizio M-Series M1d-A3R is an excellent value with great design and a snappy picture; great shadow detail, fairly deep black levels, and excellent video processing. It also offers sleek styling and an improved Smart TV system.

It doesn't have as deep a black level as a plasma; suffers from more blooming than many LCDs; skin tones appear a little red; similar motion resolution to a 120Hz TV; reflective screen; Yahoo apps seem clunky; remote sensor isn't very responsive.

The 60-inch Vizio M1d-A3R doesn't quite offer the very best value for money in the company's range, but nevertheless features fine picture quality in a large size.

"remote control continually stops working and lose tv functions"

losing control of tv with remote, set must be powered off by unplugging. Vizio appears to be aware. Have replaced set 2x and still having problems.

Performance Meets Value!

Delivery was impressive and two people showed up and took it up 2 flights of stairs without issue. The TV is a lot lighter than my 57" Samsung from 2008 which is one of the advantages of edge-lit TVs. Performance seems very good since I hooked it up in...

Smart apps are nice. 3D is awesome! Great color performance. Very nice styling/thin bezel.

TV doesn't respond to remote unless it is pointed specifically at the lower left corner.

"Great TV if wireless is not needed."

The wireless adapter is defective in M series Vizios. Vizio is aware of the problem but only sends out technicians to fix it if someone calls in complaining about the problem. If you need to use wireless to connect your TV, go with a different brand....

Picture, size, easy to use.

Terrible wireless performance.

"I have the 80" version and it's excellent."

I shopped for some time, compared this set to Sharp and Samsung models and this was significantly better, especially for the price. I wonder why CNET hasn't done a review of the A3R Vizio series, especially the M801D-A3R I purchased. I think it's...

Deep blacks, vivid colors, passive 3D has much less crosstalk compared to active. I run my backlight fairly low (37) but it's still plenty bright and I don't have discernible light bleed. I've connected my laptop to it and had no faded lines.

Remote can be slightly finicky, but not bad at all. Local dimming introduces slight blooming when you have white letters on a black field, but I find it a fair trade off for the deep blacks.

Not to be trusted.. Vizio does not stand by their word!

Firstly, Vizio advertises this 80" as having a Wi-Fi remote. That is false. I recently contacted Vizio and have in writing that they have no current plans of enabling any type of Wi-Fi function in the remote. Other than that blatant lie.. the tv has a...

"If your not picky, it will do."

The screen shows the flaws, not that sharp and going close to the screen shows even more, this should not be happening to the degree I noticed. The turning point came in looking at the TV through my computer, a new computer, by the way. There are faded...

It is fairly easy to setup, the remote is OK and the picture is in the same realm. The audio is fairly good as well.

Lacks quality for the bucks and pairs of cheap glasses included, Costco site 4, Vizio site 8, 4 is the norm provided through vendors, but Vizio states they include only 4 under their info ?
