Vizio VP505XVT

As LCDs dominate the HDTV market, plasmas are becoming better values every day, which is great news, since no LCD can match a plasma's wide viewing angles. Talk about value: The affordable ($1,499.99 list) 50-inch Vizio VP505XVT plasma features full...

Excellent standard-definition video quality. Very good picture contrast. Good value.

Limited video-processing options with HD sources. Calibration required for accurate HD color.

The bargain-priced Vizio VP505XVT 1080p plasma HDTV delivers exceptional SD upconversion and detailed HD picture.

Vizio VP505XVT Plasma HDTV

In the six short years that Vizio has sold flat-panel TVs in the U.S., the company has risen to third place in flat-panel sales (plasma and LCD combined) in the North American market. This tremendous and rapid success is because of the high value that...

Vizio VP505XVT Plasma TV

Vizio's latest plasma, the 50-inch VP505XVT, is no exception. I've been very impressed with the company's plasma TVs in the past, so I had high expectations for this one—expectations that were met and even exceeded.

Vizio VP505XVT Review – 50-inch Plasma HDTV

To maximize the home theater experience, this model has advanced audio and video processing capabilities adorned inside the television itself. The audio feature is powered by built-in TruSurround XT processing engine which decodes 5.1 audio and will...

I was given a Vizio 50″ for Christmas ’08 which was manufactured may ’08, just went completely dead a month ago. When I contacted Vizio was told I should have bought extended warranty and pretty much ‘sorry about your luck’. What are they selling-TV’s...

As with any purchase.... do your home work! UNLESS you want a Vizio! This purchase was a no brainer!

When mated with the Playstation 3....... I found it required no setup changes. Perfect out of the box

The only flaw i could find is no variable audio outputs. the audio outputs are set and forces you to change volume on your audio system

You can't beat the quality and price of this TV. Bought this at Costco. Everything comes with a two year warranty. I've researched tv's for two years and this one has been the best value for the price. It's 50"s. That's crazy. No one else comes close...

Price, Quality, Clarity, contrast ratio, size

edge adjustment for inaccurate transmission, but not very noticeable

Best picture I've seen in a 50" set in this price range

Only one component input. Disfunctional tuner. Slow to change channels. Can not manually add or delete channels - only automatically scan for them. Only ANALOG channels can be skipped. Blocked channels show up anyway as you scroll up/down

Short life, costly repairs

Price and no other

The tv has gone out of service after 3 1/2 years, well past warranty date. I had loved it until I couldn't find a repair man and then was told it would cost $1K to fix it. I paid over $2200 for it in 2006. Since when do tv's only last 3 1/2 years
