Vizio XVT473SV 47-Inch LCD TV

(Editor's note: This review of the Vizio XVT3SV series is based on our hands-on testing and evaluation of the 55-inch XVT553SV. According to the manufacturer, the image quality and features should be equivalent for each TV in this model line.)

Supports Bluetooth remote and other peripherals ; Treats streaming video apps as a separate input

Surround sound lacks depth ; Remote control is a bit too big and thick

Though the Vizio XVT3SV isn't the best HDTV line we've seen, it's consistently above average.

Vizio XVT473SV

This 47-inch edition of Vizio's XVT line of LED HDTVs doesn't bring anything new, which is good news considering the Bluetooth, QWERTY keyboard remote is back.

Vizio XVT373SV

Though Vizio had to make some sacrifices, its XVT373SV finally brings LED to the sub-$1,000 market of HDTVs.

Vizio XVT423SV

A smaller, more affordable cousin to the 55-inch Vizio XVT553SV, the XVT423SV brings the same features including LED backlighting and a fancy Bluetooth remote.

Vizio XVT423SV 42-Inch LCD TV HDTV Review - PCWorld

The Hitachi Ultra Vision LE42S704 delivers decent picture quality and great audio at a good price if you're not set on Internet or robust multimedia support.

Vizio XVT553SV

Vizio's 55-inch XVT553SV LED HDTV delivers big-screen goodness and a strong feature set at a very reasonable price.

Good picture performance. Generous port selection. Handy Bluetooth remote with a full QWERTY keyboard.

Some LED blooming. Slightly noisy SD picture. Doesn't swivel. Picture settings can only be adjusted via remote.

Vizio XVT3SV review: Vizio XVT3SV

Less expensive than other local dimming LED-based LCDs; reproduces relatively deep black levels with very good shadow detail; accurate, well-saturated color; excellent bright-room performance; solid uniformity; superb streaming and widget content via...

More blooming than some local dimming LEDs; black areas tinged blue; couldn't handle 1080p/24 content properly; poor off-angle viewing; fewer picture controls than some high-end HDTVs; generic looks.

The Vizio XVT3SV series' excellent picture quality, thoughtful design, scads of features, and reasonable price combine to make it the best value among high-end LED-based LCD TVs today.

Vizio XVT553SV LED LCD HDTV Review - Intro

The Vizio XVT553SV ($2199 MSRP) is a pleasant surprise from the normally budget-oriented manufacturer. It's a good television, and what's even more surprising - it's a pretty cool television, too. It's got all the bells & whistles you'd find on a...

The Vizio XVT553SV ($2199 MSRP) is probably the first Vizio to actually impress us. It's a big 55-inch screen for a reasonable price, and it's loaded with great features: built-in WiFi, an excellent selection of streaming content, a great interface,...
