Vizio XVT3SV Series

(Editor's note: This review of the Vizio XVT3SV series is based on our hands-on testing and evaluation of the 55-inch XVT553SV. According to the manufacturer, the image quality and features should be equivalent for each TV in this model line.)

Treats streaming video apps as a separate input ; Supports Bluetooth remote and other peripherals

Remote control is a bit too big and thick ; Surround sound lacks depth

Though the Vizio XVT3SV series aren't the best HDTVs we've seen, they're consistently above average.

Vizio XVT3SV review

A Vizio in your living room might not have impressed your snobby videophile friends in the past, but the company known for budget LCDs is doing its best to change that. The XVT3SV series, Vizio's third attempt at using a full array of local dimming...

Less expensive than other local dimming LED-based LCDs; reproduces relatively deep black levels with very good shadow detail; accurate, well-saturated color; excellent bright-room performance; solid uniformity; superb streaming and widget content via...

More blooming than some local dimming LEDs; black areas tinged blue; couldn't handle 1080p/24 content properly; poor off-angle viewing; fewer picture controls than some high-end HDTVs; generic looks.

The Vizio XVT3SV series' excellent picture quality, thoughtful design, scads of features, and reasonable price combine to make it the best value among high-end LED-based LCD TVs today.

Great, if it worked...

I've had this unit for a little under two years. Within the first month, I've had to get the remote replaced. The bluetooth function only works after a complete system reset (unplug the TV from the wall and hold the power button in for 30 seconds). The...

Great tv - lousy remote

If Vizio did anything, I'd recommend improving this goofy remote

Great picture quality and easy to navigate

The remote sucks big ones. It's small and clumsy, is not illuminated for use in a dark room and the buttons are too small.

Great Picture

Recently purchased this TV. Other then the Vizio XMF1300 Mount being junk, I couldn't be more pleased. I haven't had a single issue as some other reviews have described. Set-up easy, apps work fast (wife loves facebook while watching tv), found a...

Television does not last. Had multiple problems

Don't waist your money if you want a long lasting tv I was told since it was one month out of warranty I could purchase another comparable tv from their warehouse just for these situations for $300. WHY would I do that? I was asked constantly if I had...

Did have a great clear picture

did not last a 13 months and the warranty has ran out. The panel is out would cost more to replace it , had multiple problems with cutting on and off

Expensive junk.

It's cheap, and I don't mean that in a good way.

Good picture quality for a TV of this type.

Multiple technical difficulties during the 14 months between purchase and total failure of the display panel. I told Vizio it's wrong for a $1,400 TV to completely fail after just 14 months--their attitude can be summed up as: 'too bad, so sad.'

Truly awesome TV. Was great value, but now pricey.

Was wary about Vizio because I had another model that was just plain awful, but reviews and price at the time for this one were great so I jumped at it and was completely amazed. This model is nothing less than spectacular. Images, color and sound are...

Awesome picture and sound; wifi, apps, inputs, menus, setup; light weight and thin

Remote: Thought the keyboard slide out would be more useful, but it's not (then again, I'm not big on Facebook). Balked at other reviews panning the lack of back light on the remote, but they were right - can't operate easily in a dark room.

Love this TV which is much better than the LCD XVT370SV

Love this model. NetFlix 1080P videos are way flawless and set the picture way above any cable or satellite signal !

Picture is flawless, blacks are vividly black.

Need a multi-media port that plays DVD files and computer videos such as wma, avi, mpeg etc.
