Westinghouse VK-40F580D

Perfectly acceptable image quality and a well-integrated DVD player make the Westinghouse VK-40F580D a solid choice for people going the combo route.

Somewhat inexpensive; built-in DVD player integrated nicely; display produces a relatively deep shade of black; accurate primary colors and color temperature; adequate picture controls

Limited connectivity with just two HDMI and one component video input; some screen uniformity issues; darker areas tend toward reddish and brighter areas toward blue even after calibration; subpar remote control

Westinghouse LD-4065 Review – 40-inch LED LCD HDTV

The 40-inch LED TV model is one of the 1080p HD models launched by Westinghouse without 3D technology support and internet access option. You can consider the model to complement your main 3D HDTV as a backup or second TV set for your family members....

The 3 HDMI, 1 USB and 1 PC terminals may not look comprehensive. But you can still use these terminals to connect your PC with compatible digital devices like camcorder, Blu-ray player, digital camera and video game consoles. You can connect a Blu-ray...

Westinghouse VK-40F580D Television

There is not a plethora of large-screened flat panel televisions on the market that also house a DVD player. The Westinghouse VK-40F580D, however, is such an LCD. If you find the idea of combining two great things in one package intriguing, keep...

In addition to its integrated DVD player, the Westinghouse VK-40F580D also provides good image quality and decent picture controls, although it lacks a lot of connectivity as far as LCDs are concerned. The Westinghouse VK-40F580D can currently be...

Westinghouse VK-40F580D HDTV/DVD Combo Review

The Westinghouse VK-40F580D combines a very good high definition TV with a so-so standard definition DVD player. If you have a collection of SD DVDs, the convenience of an all-in-one package is appealing. But if you want to see this HDTV really shine,...

Westinghouse VK-40F580D

Combo meals are great, combo TVs... well, they're OK. But the Westinghouse VK-40F58D is changing that.

For years, TVs with built-in DVD players have been a red-flag for sloppy construction and unreliability. The Westinghouse VK-405F580D is about to change that perception; the company produces one of the only flat-panel high-definition TVs to offer this...

I really like this TV, very good picture, good computer monitor also

I have to say I really like this TV. I have read elsewhere that this may actually be a Samsung in Westinghouse clothing, but I don't have the courage to open this TV up to verify. I purchased this TV for $849 from a refubished TV dealer to use as a...

Bright picutre, decent blacks, auto sync feature for inputs is nice

Minimal adjustments, slow remote response, bright back lighting, VGA input changes resolution without cause

poor remote

How can they sell a product that doesn't work properly? Doesn't everyone use the remote from more than 5-6' away?

Great size

No control from my couch or easy chair

Welcome to the ultimate entertainment system, the Westinghouse 40" widescreen DVD combo with an integrated HDTV tuner and front slot load DVD player. Designed for maximum functionality and style efficiency this widescreen DVD combo features direct digital path to screen technology for optimal video performance and has the flexibility to be placed in an armoire or can be wall mounted. The clean integration of popular functions makes this unit simple and efficient. The Westinghouse LCD TV/DVD combos feature a unique electronic front-loading "auto wake" slot which detects when a disc (CD or DVD) is inserted and automatically powers the TV on, switches to DVD or CD source, and plays the movie or music. If the TV is already on and a DVD is inserted into the slot, "auto select" is activated and switches to the DVD, whether the viewer is watching TV, playing video games or using other sources. No fumbling with modes or technology. Just sit back and enjoy. The Westinghouse 40" DVD Combo has a front-loading slot that allows the product to fit into an armoire or mounted on a wall. Equipped with the patent pending SpineDesign the "spine" is ideal for connecting exterior components and keeps wires hidden and allows easy access even if the TV is hanging on a wall. In addition, the innovative front-loading design integrates the DVD player to enjoy Pixel Direct technology that delivers the ultimate in picture quality. Pixel Direct technology delivers the DVD video from the source to the screen with the shortest direct digital path and the least signal processing. For current and future device connectivity the TV features an HDMI input. Westinghouse designs for maximum-functionality draped with long-lasting elegance. The design envelope is optimized to provide the largest display within a given space. The connectors are located for easy access to each and every one of the inputs even after wall mounting.
