Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Plus Allergy review

As Dyson's biggest and baddest full-size upright vac, we expected big things from the DC65 Cinetic Big Ball Animal Plus Allergy. Thankfully, it lived up to all our expectations.

Bagless ; Filterless ; Maneuverable ; Lots of attachments ; Great suction performance

Loud operation ; Expensive

There’s no doubt in our minds that the DC65 Cinetic Big Ball is one of the best upright vacuums in the biz. The suction performance was top-notch, and all of the other bells and whistles Dyson included helped to really round out the package.

The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy doesn't need a filter and won't lose suction, but you can get an equally powerful vacuum for a lot less money.

No filter needed. Doesn't lose suction. Good at picking up very fine debris.

Very expensive. Heavy. Weak upright lock.

Years of dust can't keep Dyson's filterless vac from shining

The Dyson Cinetic works without a filter and justifies its claim of no loss of suction.

The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Allergy vacuum ditches the filter and never loses suction because of it. It's extremely good with fine particles and bested the competition at deep cleaning.

Despite the innovation, it still costs too much as its performance gains over much cheaper competition are minimal. It still suffers from tedious usability.

Dyson reinvents the wheel with the Cinetic series, and though the filterless approach works, it doesn't add enough practical convenience to justify the price jump over similarly capable competition.

At 81 dB, this is a relatively loud vacuum. Your entire household will know when it's running.
