Best carpet cleaner

Cleans more effectively than other models, dries carpet better than most models, moderately priced

Small dirty-water tank, some durability problems, hard to get repairs

Hoover Steam Vac with Clean Surge F5914900 Review and Prices

good refurb for the price

Refurbished and marked down, this is really a great deal in terms of value.

Got all the stains out of my carpet. Pretty easy to operate. Refurbished, it is priced way below $300+ alternatives. Works fine with other company's detergent solutions

Supply and waste tanks are different sizes, therefore need to be emptied at different times. Plastic parts feel like low build quality. Does not come with all attachments. (Did you really need those, though?)

Great rug cleaner

Not sure if I hooked up stair cleaner right but it leaked. Other than small water tank it did the trick. White carpets look great. Fairly priced. Excellent JR customer service as usual

HOOVER F5914900 SteamVac With Clean Surge

This unit cannot be used like a vacuum pushing and dragging it fast, you have to move slow and melodically, overlapping and slow strokes when you do it right it really gets the dirt up. I do two passes with cleaning solution then do one with just...

Unit dose what it says it cleans and dose it very well. People keep saying it doesn't heat the water which is true, but what it dose is it heats the cleaning path with hot air which in my opinion is far better, just use the unit with bare feet and you...

Made of plastic and can break easy, But make it out of metal and listen to the people complain about the weight then so how do they win, and I am sure the cost would be quadrupled. bottom line just don't beat it around like a regular vacuum ; Parts...

2 years

I did my shopping around when looking for a budget carpet cleaner and luckily I decided against the bissels and went with this hoover, great machine. I paid the sale price 2 years ago so this thing hasn't dropped in price at all, that's gotta say...

This cleaner has been running strong for two years now, we've used the hell out of it cleaning up after our pets and everything else. It's survived 3 moves and I let a friend borrow it a few times. The people who say it breaks because it is plastic...

Sometimes you have to go in and clean the hair ect. out the bottom but that's expected

Hoover 5914900 SteamVac

The unit worked as expected. I assembled and disassembled the unit several times when emptying the 'dirty' water. No problems with suction. Follow directions and pay attention to what you are doing. The water was very dirty....I guess I should be...

Fairly simple to assemble. Great price. Simple to use. Follow directions and it does what it says it will

We have a 'shag' type pile carpet; I don't think the brushes rotate as quickly on this type of pile

Vacuum work great

Easy to use and setup. I only had to use the manual to figure out how to attach the furniture mini vacuum. It also works fine using any generic carpet cleaning solution. The Hoover SteamVac vacuum gets the carpet looking and smelling clean. It gets up...

The bottom discharge and waste tank has to fit just so and snug or you won't get a vacuum. I had to unlock and relock the waste tank more than once before I had a vacuum. Fortunately, this was only an minor annoyance

Junk

always lower the handle all the way down (only 15-20 degrees from horizontal as I recall) for maximum suction since it will always start redirecting any suction to the attachments tube the more upright it is. Expect to be on your bent over, or on your...

Squirts water, no 1 star instead of 2 because it actually "worked" but just not that well

Does not heat water so if you use hot tap water and turn on all the burner to can get hot watery soap to comes out but nothing even approaching "steam'. If you put in room temperature water them it squirts room temperature water. At least the Bissell...
