Vax Air Revolve Pet review: The funky, new-wave vacuum cleaner

Builder's dust. If you know it well, then you know just what it can do. And having caused our previous vacuum cleaner to meet an early grave, we needed a new and powerful lil sucker to replace it.

Funky design, powerful suction, easier handling than upright

Loud with brushes active, powered head is rather large and heavy

To look at the Vax Air Revolve Pet (or Cylinder, or whatever it wants to be called, maybe even Dave if you fancy renaming it like a pet) is the funkiest looking vacuum we've seen in a long time. But it's not just about looks; the design is well thought...

Vax Air Cordless review

The future of cleaning, some say, is robot vacuum cleaners. But in the present and in our experience those automated robotic vacuums have still got a long way to go for the perfect clean. Until then it's all about perfecting what we do manually, which...

Lightweight, cord-free, spare battery, long life, powerful, multi-floor

Awkward wand extension with too few heads

Vax has created a near perfect cordless vacuum cleaner in its Air Cordless. It's light, easy to manoeuvre, has a long life per charge (plus two batteries) and large storage capacity with easy emptying feature. Our main moan is the lack of cleaning...

Vax Air Cordless Switch

A cordless vacuum means no restrictions on distance from the power plug; it also has two LEDs on the shoe so no excuse for not getting into those dark corners in fact with its smaller overall shoe size it gets into places most cannot penetrate.

Certainly not a quiet unit, this hard floor or carpet cleaner is at best loud and with the brushes going it can drown out most other things. It is 112cm tall, 10cm deep at the base and 25cm wide at the brush bar. The only instructions were printed on...

DO NOT BUY this vacuum

This vacuum came from Godfreys Napier and is terrible – do not buy, it gets clogged after every use meaning that you have to empty and wash the filter (which then puts it out of action for a day + while it dry's). It does not deal with dust or hair...

The vacuum gets clogged very easily. I only use when I have already swept floors to try and avoid clogging. Dust gets into areas you cannot get into to clean. Over heats easily. It needs emptying after approx 10 mins use. The filters need to be cleaned...

Colonic seal issues

I bought this machine from Harvey Norman store just yesterday (24th January 2015) was happy with purchased as I got some discount. Anyway, I was really excited. Took it home, unpacked and got them all going. I realised that the cover on the side sister...

Picked this up for $199 at Harris Scarfe. What a bargain. Does everything I want to do. Its also a lot lighter to maneuver around than the Dyson that cost 5 times more that I had been using.Great suction- you can't go wrong at this price.

Purchased from Godfreys and within short time wheel cover fell off continually. Repaired under warranty and still falls off. Will try again to have fixed before warranty expires in 3 weeks. Plastic gets very hot and has buckled hence wheel cannot lock.

Waste of money

Very Very disappointing. Brought after my Dyson died after a long time of use. Brought due to being on special, and being happy with other Vax products. Cover on side constantly falls off every vacuum. My husband regularly has to pull apart due to...

Purchased for $300 from Godfreys 12 months ago. Looks pretty! Great for first 3 or 4 months and tolerated filter cover falling off from wheel until main filter constantly began filling with debris. Honestly, I feel the bagless is a dirty option...
