Bought this machine for both hard floors and carpeted staircase. Not much use for staircase. Like the long hose but handle on hose is so long that it is very difficult to vacuum front of stairs, (wall gets in the way), would be okay on open staircase....

This is a very powerful vac. It copes well with everyday dust and dirt as well as picking up lumps of plaster and building dust. I would recommend this vac to anyone- especially in that price range.
