I have an older Hauppauge PVR350 that I have really liked, so I got this card for my sister's box. She lives out in the country and has no TV out there, so I used this card to feed a VCR into the computer. It seems to work fine
The software is still a little hokey and there is a learning curve to get the best out of the card, but that was true of my PVR350, too
