The software could be a little more flexible and maybe, yes maybe, allow for some in-line, real-time, adjustments in color, contrast, and saturation.
Writes to an MPEG2 Video, 720x480, 29.97fps @ 7000Kbps with MPEG Audio @ 48000Hz stereo 224Kbps using the included capture software program which is so easy to figure out even those who don't read directions shouldn't have issues.
The product's wires could be a bit more robust. The s-video input cable is not low loss yet should be.
make sure you use the S-Video, composite just looks muddy and dark on this dongle.
compact/light/easy to transport. Fairly long cables. Easy driver installation on WinXP - took about 10 mins from start to my first capture complete. Higher quality than you expect for such a small codec device - particularly for the price.
Drivers for PC Only, No Mac. File save formats other than mpeg2 would be nice with bundled software. Audio sounds choppy in preview but actually captures just fine, don't be fooled or worried! Component video would be nice - but for the price... you can't...
The total lack of support from Plextor has made me re-evaluate my preference to Plextor optical drives.
Doesn't occupy much space in the trash can
No support from Plextor. Plextor bairly admits this is their junk. No mention of it in their suspport web site. This device has never worked for me. Do not buy this device!!!
