Hotpoint WMPF742

With an A** energy efficiency rating and a 7kg drum capacity, the Hotpoint WMPF742 will clean your clothes whilst saving you cash.

Very quiet ; Adjustable temperature and spin speed on all cycles ; Special settings for wool

Cycle times are too long ; Perhaps too many programme settings overcomplicate it

The 7kg drum will take a fairly large load of washing and the Hotpoint WMPF742 can reach a maximum spin speed of 1400 revolutions per minute — not blindingly fast, but it’s a good strong spin that will get the clothes as dry as possible before they...

good clear figures which show how long till the wash cycle is finished

a pity that you haven't got a automatic setting for a low temperature wash for 30c without having to actually press the lower temprature button from the 60c setting to take it dwon to 30c

Can delay when the wash starts ; Can adjust the temperature ; Door easy to close ; Liquid detergent measuring device

No half wash ; No pre-wash ; Makes bleeping noises when finished, which can't be switched off ; Quite noisy when using the intensive wash cycle

This machine is more compact than my previous 7kg capacity machine, so fits neatly under the worktop. It is straight forward to use and yet has lots of options to customize the wash to your needs. It displays the time left to the end of the wash and is...

Most wash cycles are long, approx. 3 hours, to achieve the energy efficiency rating. However, this can be shortened to just under 2 hours by using the time saving option, without affecting the quality of the wash

I like the way the display shows how long a chosen cycle is going to take and that it counts down so if you are busy doing other things you can keep checking see how long is left. I have found it is very quiet -compared to my old machine - even when it...

There are a lot of cycles that take much too long - one takes over 3 hours - sorry but life is too short! I find I stick to 2 or 3 cycles 2 that are @ 60 mins that I use for main washes & 1 that is 30 mins which I use just for freshening up rarely worn...

Quietness. Larger capacity drum. Option to save time. High spin speed

Over 3 hours on one cycle seems excessive, although this can be shortened. I guess it's because it's cold fill only
