This machine was great, for about the first year. It started getting louder and louder on the wash and spin cycles. We took off the back and my husband fiddled around a bit and it was quieter. Then it started sounding like metal parts were just colliding and it would blow apart. We only ran it on the slowest, delicate spin cycle. Then it made a horrible sound and black water came out from the bottom. It stained our floor. We had a technician come out and tell us it was the tub bearing, among other things that could potentially be wrong. He indicated that nothing we could have done (eg, overloading, etc) would cause that; the race for the tub bearing was manufactured incorrectly. After a ridiculous amount of time on the phone and asking to be transferred to a higher up several times, my husband reported that Maytag offered to have their technician come out for a fee of $95 to reassess what we already knew and, if it was nothing of our doing, they would pay for the parts. We would still be left with a $400 bill for a machine that lasted a mere fraction of the time it should have, only to risk it failing again. No thanks. Disappointed with the product and the customer service.
