Okay at cleaning, but has had repairs

We purchased this Whirlpool washer about 7 months ago in May 2008. The one we have is WFW8400TW02 (white, bought in Canada; WFW8400 and WFW8500 are the same). It washes about 4 loads of average weight/size per week (not heavy use). At 3 ...

Little water & detergent. Small to large loads.  Normally quiet.

Design and/or manufacturing deficiencies resulted in 2 repairs within 7 months.

So far has worked without a problem!

I have read all of the reviews on the web about the WFW8500SR washer (and matching dryer) and was very hesitant about buying them because of some bad reviews, but so far...so good. This front-loader seems to have better reviews than some of the earlier...

Quiet, very clean clothes

Seems to take longer than old washer. Can't throw clothes in while filling.

Broke down first day I bought it

Couldn't find a PRO. I only owned it for a couple hours and it broke

Broke on 2nd load of laundry. Repair through Whirlpool sucks. Search reviews... A&E is horrible!

Don't buy this washing machine!!!

Excellent washing performance, little vibration

needs to be leveled often, water leaks

Best buy for the money imho

Silent, little vibrations, very economical, nice design, simple to figure out

wool setting wouldn't hurt, though I think it's the same as hand washables

A+ Stability but Disappointing Wash

VERY stable operation even with pedestal on Upper Floor

A+ Stability but Disappointing Wash

We bought the Duet Sport Washer and Dryer in April because it seemed to be the only front-load model on the market that was recommended for Second Floor install. True to the marketing, it is extremely stable in our 1840 Colonial installed on the Second...
