Dvico TVIX-3300T

dvico tvix hd r-3300 hd digital jukebox + ultimate pvr review: TViX's supposedly HD PVR promises to be the "ultimate" PVR. We can't help thinking that "basic" would have been a better appellation.

Small form factor • Wide variety of on-board functions • Some modules are optional ;

Can only share four folders at once • Single tuner only • Some modules shouldn't be optional • Very spotty performance • 1080i maximum resolution • No support for H.264 ;

Linksys Wireless-G

linksys wvc54gca wireless-g internet home monitoring camera review: Wi-Fi cameras for home security ought to be a no-brainer, and at this price, the Linksys pretty much is. We just wish it worked seamlessly cross-browser, and took better pictures.

Works wirelessly, Motion detection works quite well

Requires ActiveX control, Automatic Setup may not be quite automatic, Blue light may alert the burglars, Image quality is only so-so

Microsoft LifeCam Show

microsoft lifecam show review: The Microsoft LifeCam Show offers improvement over Microsoft's previous laptop webcam, but Logitech still has the laptop webcam to beat.

Decent image quality, Magnetised connection options are flexible and sturdy, 2-megapixel sensor provides higher resolution than your typical webcam, 3D video effects improve on past efforts

LifeCam application remains lacklustre and quirky, Not compatible with Macs

The Microsoft LifeCam Show offers improvement over Microsoft's previous laptop webcam, but Logitech still has the laptop webcam to beat.

Logitech Quickcam Sphere

logitech quickcam sphere af review: While the QuickCam Sphere produces excellent pictures and has impressed us with its automatic face tracking, these features don't justify the extra expense over the cheaper webcams in the Logitech stable with ...

Outstanding video quality, Great low light performance, Mechanical automatic face tracking

Intrusive design, Expensive

While we have been impressed with the Sphere's ability to follow us around the room, for the vast majority of people who use webcams this freedom to move is overkill and Logitech's excellent QuickCam Pro 9000 is AU$100 cheaper.

Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000

microsoft lifecam vx-7000 review: There are better Webcams that you can buy with your AU$150 than the Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000.

Compact size and sturdy base, Acceptable picture quality for video calls, Decent audio

Grainy video at lower resolutions, Video gets choppy at higher resolutions, Software has some annoying quirks

There are better Webcams that you can buy with your AU$150 than the Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000.

Creative Live! Cam Optia AF

creative live cam optia af review: If remote video surveillance or time-lapse photography is something you want to do with a Webcam, the Creative Live Cam Optia AF is a good pick. For all others, Logitech has a better (and slightly cheaper) Webcam.

Can do remote monitoring and time-lapse video, Ball-and-socket joint provides flexibility, Camera rotates 270 degrees, Stand works equally well on top of desk or atop a monitor

Image quality struggles in low light, Buggy software, Face tracking feature is useless

If remote video surveillance or time-lapse photography is something you want to do with a Webcam, the Creative Live Cam Optia AF is a good pick. For all others, Logitech has a better (and slightly cheaper) Webcam.
