Contracting with a professional monitoring service is the best option for home security in most cases, but if you want to try your hand at it alone, the D-Link DCS-930L Wireless N Network Camera is an easy-to-use option.

The D-Link DCS-930L Wireless N Network Camera has a compact design that makes it a good fit for small spaces

The field of view is not very wide, and there is no way to pan or tilt the camera to take in more of the room

Monitoring your own security system is inconvenient, but this is a relatively easy-to-use and economical wireless security camera.

Tech support disgusting

I have been trying for 4 weeks to get camera working, now Dlink software will not even recognize camera. Had to conatct President of Dlink to have warranty honoured

Nice sleek unit

Does not work as advertised. Picture goes black after 3 minutes. Tech support is absolutly terrible and disgusting

Work fine. Clear picture. Excellent value

bought one of these as well as a similar dlink model with night vision. Both work the same except for the night vision option which in my opinion isn't worth the extra cost

Clear picture and great to monitor house while I am away. Mydlink software is awesome

Flexible Resolution, Works with Home Automation

I bought two of these to supplement my home automation system (Vera from Micasaverde)and they work fine. The resolution is adjustable and I started with the highest resolution but cranked it down to save bandwidth when viewing the camera images...

Great Considering...

Overall I think these cameras are perfect for the novice user who isn't concerned with quality or features. There are other camera options out there that offer more features (rotate, IR, etc.) and I would suggest pricing those first before choosing.

Poor Quality ; The quality left much to be desired when viewing in a web page ; Browser ; Viewing in the browser made things clunky and almost unusable simply because if you make changes and the browser refreshes, you have to select the settings again

Not as good as I thought it was...

A bad choice as a baby cam. Sound is awful on this thing, so much noise and buzzing (mic sucks). Whenever there is motion going on, camera because really sluggish. Only good to put in places where there isn't a lot of motion going on. Would prefer if...

Small, cheap ($39.99 each), wifi, works, easy setup, access to camera via internet, works with ftp ; Gets back up to work after being powered off. Don't have to reconnect to router at all. FTP pic sizes were super small which makes storing them a lot...

ONLY max 20 fps on 640 x 480. This model doesn't work at night, practically as the day gets darker, they become more and more horrible (requires a high amount of light to work)
