The D-Link Full HD 180-Degree Wi-Fi Camera DCS-2630L offers an ultra-wide field of vision, motion and sound detection, and detailed HD video, but it's relatively bulky and it doesn't interact with other smart home devices.

Sharp HD video. Wide field of view. MicroSD card slot for local video storage. Motion and audio detection.

It's complicated: My love-hate relationship with D-Link's latest camera

There's a pretty decent camera hidden inside the $180 D-Link DCS-2630L's comically oversized frame.

The $180 D-Link DCS-2630L offers a 180-degree distortion-free live stream along with local cloud storage (up to 128GB, microSD card not included), one of the first DIY models with these combined options.

Setting up a connected D-Link product is notoriously complicated (according to our experiences, at least) and the DCS-2630L is no exception. The camera is huge -- literally. It's way bigger than Nest Cam and other competitors.

If you are specifically looking for a wide-angle DIY indoor camera with local storage, the D-Link DCS-2630L will work well. Just don't expect stellar design or a headache-free setup process.

The D-Link DCS-2630L's daytime video quality is on par with that of the best security cameras. While its sound and nighttime video quality don't have the same quality, its mobile app is easy to use.

The price of the D-Link DCS-2630L ($159) is in the medium range, but because it doesn't offer cloud storage, you don't have to pay anything extra per month. So if you don't care about saving your videos to the cloud, this might be a good option.

No sharing options ; Not all web browsers fully supported ; No cloud storage ; Limited scheduling

There are many cameras that offer a wider field of view for use to see an entire room and more. These cameras, generally, have pretty bad quality and that horrible fish-eye look. The D-Link DCS-2630L offers to fix those issues in an easy to use package.

Hard to setup

Nice wide clean view

After wasting a lot of time what I ended up doing for camera set up... I held the reset button until the LED flashed Red real fast.. Once it started flashing orange I ran the app on the phone and everything went smooth

Great camera when it works but D-Link's customer service is awful.

If you get a good one that doesn't have a failure, I would recommend this camera. Otherwise look elsewhere.

Camera has a sharp picture, low light mode is decent, ultra wide viewing angle gets the whole room into the picture. Some chromatic aberration at the edges but that's to be expected. Fairly easy to setup and manage even without using the cloud service...

On my unit the IR/night filter shutter stopped working, resulting in the IR/night filter permanently stuck in place regardless of whether the camera is in day or night mode (falsely coloring the day image with pink hues). Have made several attempts to...
