Microsoft LifeCam HD-6000

Microsoft's earlier efforts in the LifeCam Webcam series certainly missed the mark, but the latest LifeCam HD-6000 for notebooks introduces 720p HD video at up to 30 frames per second, an improvement over the standard cameras built into almost all...

720p HD video quality at 30 frames per second, 360-degree rotation; inexpensive; LifeCam desktop software offers fun 3D video effects.

4MP photo resolution; jumpy autofocus; not compatible with Mac OS.

The Microsoft LifeCam HD-6000 for notebooks offers impressive HD video output quality and excellent sound definition over previous models for an overall smooth video-chatting experience, but the continual autofocus feature can be distracting to your...

Microsoft LifeCam HD-6000

The Microsoft LifeCam HD-6000 ($60 as of August 5, 2010) delivers great video at a fantastic price--and its smart design makes it perfect for use with laptops.

Plenty of customizable video-capture options ; Smooth, 360-degree rotational swivel

Requires refocusing with every subtle movement ; Picture is often extremely bright

The Microsoft LifeCam HD-6000 shoots 720p HD widescreen video and includes in-depth features in its software.

Microsoft LifeCam HD-5000 & HD-6000 (Review)

When Microsoft first entered the webcam market in 2006, they faced many experienced competitors such as Logitech. Most pundits thought that Microsoft's new business would never stand a chance. However, over the past year or so the LifeCam series has...

Microsoft LifeCam HD-6000 Webcam

The LifeCam HD-6000 will help you look and sound your best so that all of your video interactions can be pleasant. Although it is somewhat lacking in still photo resolution, this web camera offers an impressive warranty and a small footprint for...

This webcam is compact, portable and offers good quality video

The cord is quite short and the clip is designed to work only with laptops, not desktop monitors

Microsoft LifeCam HD-6000 lacks a few features we prefer to see, but it produces quality picture and sound, and is a good value overall.

"Good plug-n-play but autofocus is crazy-dumb."

typical microsoft - made it easy at outset to have the thing running, but completely frustrating from a usability standpoint. c'mon guys - even the most basic product use would have uncovered this glaring mistake.

out of box installation a snap - or so you would think.

autofocus cycling makes camera unusable until you turn off TruColor, manually disable autofocus and hard-wire setting. just a poor, poor implementation of the feature. size for clip only usable on laptop - not on monitor with thickness more than 3/4"

Fair image quality; hypersensitive auto-focus

The image quality is all right - decent for a webcam with a plastic lens, but at this price, and at this point in time, it should have a glass lens. However, Justin Yu is correct - the auto-focus feature is terribly oversensitive, and needs to be...

Image quality okay (better than many, but not as good as it should be; clamp and cable configuration very good

Auto-focus overly sensitive; should have glass lens

"Decent Camera with decent effects"

Hd, lots of Special effects

Every time you take a picture or video, or want to use one of those special effects, the picture gets fuzzy and it's aweful
