Microsoft LifeCam Show

The LifeCam Show is a vast improvement over Microsoft's previous laptop Webcam effort, the underwhelming LifeCam VX-7000 . Most significantly, the image quality is improved, which Microsoft attributes to the cam's new sensor, firmware tweaks, and...

Decent image quality; magnetized connection options are flexible and sturdy; 2-megapixel sensor provides higher resolution than your typical Webcam; 3D video effects improve on past efforts.

LifeCam application remains lackluster and quirky; not compatible with Macs.

The Microsoft LifeCam Show offers improvement over Microsoft's previous laptop Webcam, but Logitech still has the laptop Webcam to beat.

Microsoft LifeCam Show

The Microsoft LifeCam Show is a great webcam in a very nicely sized package. The LifeCam Show has very nice video resolution range with a max setting of 800 x 600 and a min setting of 120 x 160. The still capture resolution of this camera is an amazing...

Pretty but pricey pictures.

The Microsoft Lifecam Show is a solid webcam offering let down by its exorbitant price tag. With the exception of its inferior stand, the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 will do everything just as well for a more reasonable price.

Excellent image quality, versatile mounting options, nifty 3-D features, glass element wide-angle lens

Prohibitive asking price, incompatible with Macs, glass element wide-angle lens

Despite the proliferation of webcam-equipped notebooks, Microsoft has continued to harry the market with a steady stream of portable Lifecams.

Microsoft LifeCam Show webcam

A webcam for your travels?

Overall this is a good compact and stylish offering. The inability to change the call button to Skype was an irritation, but it will launch Windows Live for you, so if you are a user then it saves some messing around.

Microsoft LifeCam Show

The first thing you notice about Microsoft's latest webcam is that you hardly notice it. Just 62mm long, it fits into the palm of a hand and is compact enough to carry around in a shirt pocket. To take advantage of this, it comes with a variety of...

Tiny and shiny. Ultra-thin mobile webcam that's light on your laptop but not on your pocket.

Microsoft LifeCam Show review

The small size, constructible stand, clever carry case and clip make the Microsoft LifeCam Show perfect for laptops. The 800×600 video quality is a great improvement on previous LifeCam models, and is smooth for the most part, plus a button on the side...

Microsoft has made it quite clear that the LifeCam Show is for laptops only by supplying the shortest USB cable possible with it. If you want to use this with a desktop, you’ll need to either have your beige box right next to the monitor, or put your...

Too expensive for what it offers

Good design, small formfactor, good performance

No auto-focus, expensive

FAR exceeded my expectations!

As you can probably tell, I love this little camera! It's been working flawlessly and constantly for me for over a year, and here's the real story: Happily voiding my warranty on the very day of purchase, I hung it outside my front door (since the door...

Works effortlessly on a Mac ; Crisp video quality, whole image always in focus ; Smooth video playback and recording ; Outstanding audio quality, considering it's a USB webcam mic ; Just keeps working without glitches, in my case at least! (see below)

Kinda pricey, I guess, (but I found it to be a great deal, all things considered) ; Can't make me coffee in the mornings
