Not plug an play... you need to install a driver, etc... then configure the Messenger to work with it. The "start messenger" button on top of it is not always working.

I used this cam when my gf moved to korea for 3 months and it worked like a charm. Very easy to set up and it detected automatically when I logged on to skype. I used this with my windows notebook but I believe this works well with MAC too. very good pict...
