Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000
Decent video, a bright image, and reasonable cost make the LifeCam a solid webcam, especially if you use Windows Live Messenger, for which it has a couple of special features.
Bright and clear video feed. Very easy install. Cool rubber grip. Good bundled software.
A few minor crashes. A few features work only with Windows Live Messenger. Audio quality only passable.
This functional webcam makes video chats look bright and crisp, thanks to a new low-light sensor with an extra software program. Still, we had a few minor crashes.
But you get what you pay for, so if you want a Microsoft model, skip that...

Nothing to like about this product
First the product was difficult to remove orm the box. Second, the software still had not finished after 20 minutes. Abosolutely ridiculous! I shoved everything back in the ripped up box and brought it back. My advice buy Logitech! Microsoft sucks

The image quality is excellent and it performs very well in low light. Installation was simple even with the required update for Windows 7. The price at around $40 is hard to beat. I feel the image quality is equivalent to more expensive cams
The Lifecam saftware is pretty lame and does relatively little. I find most webcam software packages to be relatively useless so this is not a big problem for me
