Worked great for 9 months...

This unit is very nice until it went out of focus after about 9 months of use. It has a fixed focus lens so I am stuck. Nice piece, good image, easy to use, difficult to setup but very stable once it began to work. The only problem is it is now...

NOT for Macintosh!

I was so upset when I received this product and realized it does not support Mac at all. Big waste of time.

Great NetCam

I had to configure my Linksys BEFSR81 Router manually but if you need help Panasonic has great phone tech support.

Very simple installation & setup, from box to up & running in 30 minutes. I bought it to watch my apartment & pet Parrot while away and when home I place it looking out the window at my driveway. The only camera I found that works remotely with Firefox

Should be weatherproof for the price. When panning it doesn't move till you let go of the mouse button so you have to keep clicking on it but that's no big deal

I installed this camera on the windowsill of our unheated-in-winter (unless we're there) cabin in the mountains in Colorado - looking out at the view there. These Panasonic IP cameras can be pricey, but the higher the price - the more bells and...

Good camera!

Overall, a very nice camera. We have four of these around our house, for security when we travel. I have the frontyard camera upload an ftp image to our public web page every minute. We had a problem with kids in the neighborhood ringing the doorbell...

Picture quality in the day is very good, and at night it's not so bad, even with minimal amounts of light. Easily connects to the Internet. Can send snapshots via email or FTP. Has a neat "motion detector" feature as well. You can view up to four...

Zoom is a digital zoom, so it's not that useful. The built-in microphone does cancel noise very well. It seems to take a while to call up the camera web page from a browser (even over the LAN)

Professional, but not clear

Firstly, I think that Panasonic is one of the greatest electronic manufacturers and have never had a complaint about their products. I bought this camera for it's extensive features, color, zoom, sound and brand name. Setup was really simple. It was...

Panasonic Network Camera KX-HCM110A

I really wanted a wireless camera so it could be placed anywhere, but with the features I wanted they were way out of my price range. The panasonic cameras got great reviews everywhere i looked and so I figured I would give this top of the line "wired"...

Product Specifications

This camera can be viewed and controlled from a standard Web browser, video display, or even a compatible cell phone or PDA. Place it in your home, office, vacation home or almost anywhere else that you'd like to keep an eye on things, with no PC required on location! It is easy to install and operate and require no additional software for the PC that you're viewing them on. The camera also comes with a free Web address, which can track the camera automatically. All you need is a regular Web browser to view it on your PC, as all of the other required software, including control software (TCP/UDP) and e-mail software (SMTP), is already inside the camera. This model was designed for outdoor operation, and meets both IPX4 and UL6500 standards of outdoor equipment. It operates down to -40F and up to 1220F, and is splash resistant for wet-weather operation. Use of the built-in microphone and a separately purchased amp-equipped speaker enables two-way voice communication (transceiver system) between the network camera and a PC used to monitor the camera image. In addition to conventional monitoring of images and sound, voice messages can be transmitted from the PC to the network camera. Voice transmission and reception can be switched easily from the PC used to monitor the image. This camera features a CCD (Charged Couple Device) for sharp, enhanced image expression. The image refreshing speed (maximum) has been increased to 30 images per second for smoother displays of moving images. The BB-HCM331A features an SD Memory Card slot for recording images captured by the network camera directly onto an SD Memory Card. Using a standard Web browser, video display, or even a compatible cell phone or PDA, you can control the movement of the camera. There is 120? of Pan (left & right) movement and 65? of Tilt (up & down) movement available. You can also assign a "Home Position" that allows you to return the camera to a pre-designated shooting position. Up to eight shooting positions can be registered in advance, so you can aim the camera exactly where you want it. You can also click on the part of the image you want to see, and automatically bring that part to the center of the screen. The camera can be set to automatically record video at certain times and certain speeds. In addition, with optional, external sensors attached to the camera, it is possible for the camera to email4 or record when triggered by motion, sound, light, timer, or even a push button. These convenient functions eliminate your need to constantly check the image.
