TV-IP551 video led to arrest of attempted burglary

I highly recommend the TRENDnet line of cameras. Video recording is a must for any security system.

House broken into but TRENDnet TV-IP551WI caught the suspect on camera. This led to the arrest of the suspect based on photo evidence (auto and body/face pictures) ; Camera is setup indoors looking out the front window. Police were very pleased with...

Included software is limited

Disappointed

I was excited to get this, thinking it would be an upgrade from my D-link DCS-931L. My D-link produces a nice picture but lacks night viewing. However, Trendnet took hours to set up. Then the downloaded app has limited features (forcing you to purchase...

Night vision

Difficult set up ; Inferior camera quality

Wireless fature defective

There are no pro's, as I cannot set up product, and have not used product

I called TRENDnet tech. support, after several minutes on hold, a person took my information, and informed me that someone would call me back. That was more than two weeks ago. I believe that I am past the time to return products (4 cameras). If Newegg...

Could be winner, if audio was clear

My first IP camera. Love the picture, hate the audio. Check Google for Trendnet and audio issues. Maybe common across several lines. Perhaps support will help. Everything else I own from Trendnet is top notch. Not sure how they let this one slide. For...

Picture quality is solid, including low light/no light scenes. Using as the better infant monitor than purpose built devices and picture quality at the is fantastic. Can turn of the LED light using the configuration so as not to wake my daughter. Solid...

Audio is totally worthless. Very annoying cracking sounds constantly. Tried all options, wired, wireless, latest firmware from march 2014. No improvement. Other reviews indicated audio issues, but it sounded like the firmware update would address it....

Free should be Free.

We bought this camera to setup as a baby monitor. It works wonderfully for this purpose. The tablet app works well for checking on the baby when he sets off the audio baby monitor at night, but can't be used exclusively as a baby monitor because the...

Excellent camera, easy setup, connects to wireless network and is easily accessible from anywhere on the network. Excellent night vision quality

Free App for smart phones" charges to unlock all features. App freezes after 5-10 minutes of use

Decent Camera

I use my android phone or web browser to peek on my daughter to see if she is awake. No more tip toeing around or having to listen closely at her audio baby monitor. I use my VPN connection for when I am outside of my wifi to connect. Due to what I use...

It works! Being used as a nanny cam. At full 20 fps, is pretty steady over my wifi. Night Vision is bright for what I use it for

Power light and activity light are bright and can't be disabled by a setting. It actually kept my baby up at night with the amount of light this thing emits. Just taped over that led. Obviously not the IR ones though. Disabled sound because its...

Good Value

For what I paid for these cameras, they were a great value! A little bit difficult to set up, but if search google, you can find some very helpful hints.

So Far So Good

Remember to upgrade the firmware right away. I had no problems using the included software to setup the camera. After removing the network port, camera signed onto WiFi automatically. Unit is a bit bigger than I was expecting

Easy to Setup, image quality is OK

A bit difficult to focus. DC Power Cable could have been longer. I wanted to mount this over a doorway, using a standard wall outlet. I'll need to make a longer DC cable, but no big deal

Great for the price

I'm using this device as a superior version to what I was using a Raspberry Pi to do at the same price ($35). Records motion and uploads the images offsite to create a backed up webstream of events unfolding in its field of vision. Pretty flexible for...

Price and usefulness of the device. Offsite FTP/Email upload in conjunction with the motion detection makes for a great security device. Pretty configurable as well

Setup software had mildly confusing moments, but nothing a person with basic (networking) knowledge couldn't get past. If you're familiar with setting your computers/devices up to your router/access point it shouldn't be a problem
