Assassin's Creed III Review

Assassin's Creed III's joyous blend of parkour and storytelling is enthralling, even when technical issues threaten to derail the fun.

Great storytelling that bridges two time periods ; Exciting sea battles ; Watching your homestead come together provides a sense of progress ; Lots of historical and visual details to admire ; Varied missions make good use of individual mechanics

Far too many bugs and other technical issues ; Hunting is underdeveloped ; Parkour and stealth inconsistencies

You spend most of your time as Connor, however, though this fact may not be abundantly clear when you first leap into the past. Within the first several hours of the game, you do get chances to experience the fanciful parkour mechanics for which the...

Me? No Governor, he must have stabbed himself repeatedly while eating his dinner. Tricky things, those forks.

So what is the verdict? It's fantastic, and filled with excitement. "Fantastic" that such a good title has been part of the initial release, and the "excitement" comes from seeing the obvious graphical potential inside the machine, waiting to be...

Assassin's Creed III (Wii U) Review

The white robes of the assassin's descend on the Wii U with their own tablet tapping edition of Assassin's Creed III.

Wii U version performs just as good as the other two consoles ; While not groundbreaking, the second screen is a nice little bonus ; Game feels comfortable while being played with the default controller ; One disc, sorry Xbox 360 owners

Coming in a little late to the party. Most Assassin fans have already tried it ; No overly huge bonus to picking the Wii U version over the others

Assassin's Creed III" is a great game, and now that you know the Wii U edition doesn't have any unforeseen “hiccups” you can feel confident in picking "Assassin's" up for any console. While the Wii U controller is a slight aid, it's not enough to sway...

Assassin's Creed III- WiiU

Note: Given the nature of the Wii U port, this review is the same as it was for the PS3 version, with two added paragraphs about the Wii U-exclusive features. If that's what you're looking for, scroll down to the end of this review.Maybe it's just me,...

The most ambitious game in the series ; Gorgeous visuals ; Near-perfect sound design and original score ; Engaging storyline ; Huge amount of content ; Addictive multiplayer ; Gamepad features are a nice bonus

A few technical problems ; The ending will disappoint some people ; Slow start to the campaign ; Slow matchmaking due to lack of online population

In more ways than one, this fifth installment (of the core console franchise) feels like the definitive Assassin’s Creed experience. Giving players more variety than ever, Ubisoft set out to deliver a gorgeous game that would keep everyone engaged...
