Batman: The Brave and the Bold

It's hard to think of many other franchises that veer quite so violently between starkly grim, violent cynicism and tongue-in-cheek pantomime than Batman. While 2009's Arkham Asylum (Xbox 360 / PS3) veered towards the Christopher Nolan approach, the...

Batman: The Brave and the Bold

As a child of the 90s, to me Batman has always been defined by the landmark animated series that ran from 92 to 95. While my parents grew up with Adam West's campy interpretation in the 60s, for me Batman first and always was the caped crusader...

Batman: The Brave and the Bold is equal parts classic beat-em-up and tribute to the beloved animated series. It's a brawler that anyone, genre fans included, can pick up and have a good time with. For fans of the TV show it's a must own, replicating...

Review: Batman: The Brave and the Bold (Nintendo Wii)

I really love how the game felt just like you were playing the cartoon, right down to the dialogue. With Robin you both take on Two-Face in the opening stage, and from there, the Dynamic Duo takes on Catman and Catwoman as they attempt to turn all of...

Batman: The Brave and the Bold is not only the best platformer I’ve played this year, but it’s also a solid contender for the best Wii game of the year as well. It’s witty, it’s funny, it’s got an amazing amount of fan service, it holds up amazingly...

Likely timed with the release of Batman: The Brave and the Bold: Season One last month, the video game version of Batman's cartoonish world hit the Nintendo Wii this week from developer WideLoad Games (A Boy and His Blob) and publisher Warner Brothers....

Batman: The Brave and the Bold Review

Why so Serious?

Watching what looks like a separately animated scene reveal itself as part of a level

Episodes that hang around long after they've stopped being interesting

Annoyances aside, Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a fun romp through corners of the DC Universe, in terms of both characters and characterization, that have been underutilized. The game will not reward those who want deep gameplay or devotees of the...

Batman: The Brave and the Bold- Wii

For me, [The Brave and the Bold] provides a small insight into a more light hearted version of Streets of Rage - funnily enough a game of my childhood. I've got no urge to return to that slice of childhood any time soon though.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold- Wii

The Brave And The Bold brings a bit of classic, side-scrolling twock-'em-up action to Wii. It's a good-looking and well-made game, fun alone but a lot more fun with a friend. There is no real reason for it to remain Wii-exclusive, though.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold- Wii

As long as you're okay with things getting a little mindless, there's an awful lot here to enjoy. In particular, younger gamers will adore it as it really does feel like playing through a cartoon while older gamers will be impressed by its sheer...

Batman: The Brave and the Bold- Wii

Batman: The Brave and The Bold is exactly what fans of the series want from a video game. Like the show, it features plenty of action and lots of co-op play with a heavy dose of humor both in and out of the cut scenes. It may be a short and easy game,...
