Cooking Mama: Cook Off

Arrêt Cuisine!

Mama's voice ; Sautéing mini-game

Mama's voice ; Overly simple mini-games ; Broken mini-games

Well I think Majesco's main flaw is releasing this at 50 dollars while the DS version was 20 dollars.

Cooking Mama: Cook-Off

Cooking Mama: Cook-Off is a game that perfectly demonstrates the pratfalls of developing games with the Wii's motion-sensing capabilities in mind, and also makes a good example of what separates Wii design sensibilities from DS design sensibilities....

Great concept ; The different steps involved in making the game’s food help to add realism

It’s often difficult to figure out what you’re supposed to be doing ; Lack of tactile feedback makes the game feel distant ; Mama’s voice is the bane of any cook’s existence

Cooking Mama: Cook-Off is a good idea that just hasn’t been done well here. The game’s controls just don’t work as they should.

Cooking Mama: Cook Off Review

This mystery meat tastes raw.

Those willing to put up with Cooking Mama's issues may discover a somewhat enjoyable game with a fun presentation. With that being said, Majesco should be ashamed for rushing this game to market and charging $49.99 for it. Wait until it's $19.99-$29.99...

Cooking Mama Cook Off Review

I'll just come right out and say it, I'm a big guy. I enjoy all kinds of food – Mexican, Chinese, Japanese are among my favorite non-American foods while I'll eat pretty much anything seen as American. Cooking can be pretty fun since I learned most of...

Overall, Cooking Mama Cook Off is definitely a game that is best played in short bursts. The game is nowhere near as deep as what many have grown accustomed to and is over in a few hours if you just sit down and chew through each of the cooking...

Cooking Mama: Cook Off

Shell a shrimp speedily or burn in the hell of mama's eyes?

Visually very cute ; Meats and veggies are realistic ; Gameplay is fun when it works

Gets repetitive too quickly ; Remote is usually unresponsive ; Another collection of minigames

One really ludicrous oversight is that the pointer hand isn’t on screen all the time. Obviously some tasks don't utilize it at all - the knife or spoon or whatever moving instead of a pointer - but some recipes require you to push specific buttons with...

Cooking Mama: Cook Off - Review

If you're looking to Cooking Mama: Cook Off to make you a great chef, then you'll be in for a disappointment. Cooking Mama is more a collection of food-themed mini games than it is a cooking sim and playing the game will no more turn you into Emeril...

This dish is served tepid.

Cooking Mama Review for Wii

Cooking Mama for Wii Review - Cooking Mama is another Wii game that seems content with offering little more than a series of half-baked mini-games.

Cooking Mama: Cook Off

Those who have previously read my review for the game Army of Two may remember the tale about my dear sweet Mother thinking that a PAL console meant one that came with two controllers. Therefore, it may not surprise you to learn of her initial disgust...

Cooking Mama should work brilliantly on Wii, but sadly it seems to be in a similar position to the likes of Wario Ware, where what worked on the DS doesn't quite make it flawlessly into the realms of motion control. As mentioned, it's firmly aimed at a...
