Disaster: Day of Crisis Review - Wii

disaster: day of crisis review: Wielding more Wii Remote-waggling moves than you can shake a quake at, Disaster's lack of clear gameplay focus has resulted in a game that is competent at best and never compelling.

Awesomely cheesy story, On-rails shooter sections are fun

Too easy, Tries to do too much, Driving sections can be frustrating, Lacklustre graphics and sound

Wielding more Wii Remote-waggling moves than you can shake a quake at, Disaster's lack of clear gameplay focus has resulted in a game that is competent at best and never compelling.

Disaster: Day of Crisis (Wii) review

There have been many games with weird names over the years. You'd have no idea what Gears of War was all about by just reading the name alone. The same goes for the likes of Zelda, Pikmin, God of War and many others. On the other hand, then you have...

At best, the fact that the game is not afraid to tackle such a broad range of genres is a good sign the developers are confident enough to branch out, and endeavour to create something truly different. However, to be successful they really need to stop...

Disaster: Day of Crisis (Wii)

Wii in ‘actual game' shocker.

Overall, Disaster: Day of Crisis is an enjoyable game, with a mixture of gameplay elements that offer diversity which keeps the game flowing through some fantastic action set-pieces and the cheesy summer blockbuster plot is an added bonus that makes it...

Disaster: Day of Crisis

Disaster: Day of Crisis, along with Project H.A.M.M.E.R, was one of the first titles to be shown off for Nintendo's new console, Wii, yet mysteriously disappeared off the radar and was thought to have turned into nothing but vapourware. With Monolith...

Day of Crisis is truly a fantastic pastiche of all the disaster movies currently out there, mixing cliché after cliché together, yet managing to just about tie all of its differing gameplay elements together to make one hell of a satisfying package...

Disaster Day Of Crisis (Wii) review

It's straight out of Hollywood (via Tokyo), rnbut is Day Of Crisis really a disaster?

A fairly standard Hollywood-style game-movie crossover, but it'll entertain those after some Wii drama.

Disaster: Day of Crisis

There's some fun to be had with Disaster: Day of Crisis, but it's far from good and certainly not what you should be expecting from Nintendo.

Disaster: Day Of Crisis

As with all the best disaster epics, Day of Crisis puts our square-jawed hero - in this case former US marine and International Rescue Team member Raymond Bryce - into the path of a series of natural disasters that escalate as the day wears on.

Exceptional graphics & design ; Spectacular chases, gunfights & rescues ; Good incorporation of controller movements ; Ray is easy to control ; Buy weapon or skill upgrades ; Unlock 'Special Mode' by completing game ; Practice on the shooting range

Clichéd story & characters ; Mixed genres equal stop/start effect ; Limited driving abilities ; Reload glitch when taking cover

On a slightly sour note, the game has a stop/start quality due to the constant changing of genres (running, rescuing or driving), and the shooting segments have a glitch whereby taking cover will cancel out your reload action, meaning you have to do it...

Disaster: Day of Crisis (Wii) Review

A true disaster…

Cheesy dialogue; Nice instrumental soundtrack; Attention to detail at the beginning

Which seems to slowly disappear during the game; Abysmal shooting mechanic; Awful driving sequences
