Disney Epic Mickey Review

Not quite epic, but good.

It's a little premature to say Mickey Mouse is back, but Disney Epic Mickey is a step in the right direction for the character, and perhaps even for Disney videogames as a whole. With the right amount of effort and care, Mickey Mouse and friends just...

The style is to die for, but the substance? Eh, not so much.

Awesome presentation ; Lots of cool Disney references ; Some interesting environmental puzzles

In-game choices are extremely binary ; Filled with fetch quests ; Lack of rewards for collectibles ; Camera can be troublesome

I got the game for christmas and so far I love it, I will say the camera is a bit of a problem, but not as much as I was worried about, maybe I havn't gotten far enough into the game yet, but I haven't seen too many fetch quests

When Warren Spector, of Dues Ex and Thief fame, was announced as the Director of the new Mickey Mouse game, I was shocked. Generally Mickey's forays into the video game world are overflowing with cuteness - something Spector doesn't really project in...

Epic Mickey could have been a much better game than it ended up. If you're a Disney fan, I'd highly recommend picking it up: if not, you can pass this one up without too much fret.

If you have ever seen an interview with Warren Spector about his reverence for everything Disney, then you would be hard pressed to believe that Epic Mickey was going to be anything but a rampant success on the Nintendo Wii and certainly one of the...

Disney Epic Mickey- WII

A heroic tale of redemption and discovery, Epic Mickey is an action-platforming game featuring the iconic Mickey Mouse in a fantastical adventure inspired by the cartoons of the 1930s and 1940s. Pulled into a warped Disney universe called the Cartoon...

Epic Mickey (Wii) Review

Mickey Mouse's adventure through the dismal Wasteland is met with quite a few bumps in the road.

The premise for Epic Mickey is an interesting one: Mickey Mouse has been thrown into the Wasteland, a world whose residents comprise forgotten and obscure Disney characters. The Wasteland was afflicted with a catastrophe caused by accident on Mickey's...

Mickey Mouse returns to our consoles through the visionary design of Warren Spector...

Disney Epic Mickey is undeniably the disappointment of the year for us. It was a concept that promised so much when it emerged last year but has ultimately ended up falling far short of the mark. What's more troubling than all of this, though, is that...

Disney Epic Mickey

Rich with paint; light on the mechanics.

Disney Epic Mickey is an exercise in patience and nostalgia, dominated by bizarre mutations of familiar (and obscure) Disney properties, but polluted by a terrible camera and hollow fetch quests. It's beautiful and whimsical, frustrating and tedious...

Epic Mickey Review

Mickey's new painting adventure is sure to thin your patience.

Engaging story; beautiful and well-scripted cut-scenes; multiple ways to accomplish objectives

Godawful camera; busywork fetch quests; lack of clear in-game guidance; mushy controls

Due to how it plays, Epic Mickey is ultimately a hard game to recommend, but it's an easy recommendation for true Disney fans or players who've been dying to see Mickey in a new adventure. Even though I cursed and swore my way through the bulk of the...

Disney Epic Mickey Review

Where's a plumber when you need one?

Lots of choice and consequence; Touching story with surprising moral issues; Paint and thinner mechanics; Great soundtrack and visual style

that could have been more creative; Some dark, muddy textures and environments; Spazzy camera; Terrible collision detection; Map would be more useful as kindling
