Evasive Space Review

I'm sorry, Dave. These controls are weak

Evasive Space came close to being one of the most intriguing games on WiiWare, but frustrating controls really ruin the experience. Simple analog controls would've made this inspired and polished game a must-buy.

Evasive Space [WiiWare]

Evasive Space mixes classic Asteroids-style outer space blasting with maze navigation through 20 levels of fast-paced action. Gamers take on the role of Konki, a Stellar Guardian who must retrieve the Constellation Stones that have been stolen by Dr. Dark

Evasive Space

This top-down shooter with no shooting in it might just break your wrist.

Having to evade enemies instead of shoot them is interesting

Control scheme is a total mess ; Level design is far too exacting ; Time limits are too tight

Evasive Space is a unique WiiWare title that at first glance seems to be a classic shooter, but once you play it you'll discover the game is anything but. I admire High Voltage's decision to go with an infrared-pointer-based control scheme, but wish...
