Geometry Wars: Galaxies (Wii)

Geometry Wars just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Originally released as a hidden minigame in developer Bizarre Creations' Xbox racer Project Gotham Racing 2, the brightly-colored dual-stick shooter eventually evolved into its own entity as a $5...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Geometry can be fun! Here's the proof.

Awesome hardcore shooting gameplay ; Stylus controls work great ; Game format fits well on a handheld

Noticeable slowdown with a lot of stuff happening ; Second DS screen could have been better utilized ; No friend-specific online leaderboards

Yeah, I thought of that, but the strap nub doesn't have a deformable area like the surface of your thumb, making it hard to cover all 360 degrees with the tiny surface.

Evolving the game

The drone system was a logical step in advancing the series, as you will want some help while you take on massive enemy armadas. The drone is a small square that follows you throughout the game, and performs different actions that you can choose at the...

Geometry Wars Galaxies

Geometry Wars Galaxies is a pure arcade shooter. There are no storylines here, and no characters to develop. It's you against everybody, and the odds quickly can go from manageable to “How the heck did I avoid all that?” There aren't any “endings”,...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Literally galaxies of Geometry Wars.

Geometry Wars Galaxies succeeds at being a complete Geo Wars title, although it could also easily survive on XBLA or PSN as a $30 downloadable title with added online play. The only move to a printed version that makes the most sense is the DS game,...

Geometry Wars Galaxies Review (DS)

I can say that, without a doubt, Geometry Wars on the original Xbox was a hit. Originally, it was included on the Project Gotham Racing 2 disc -- just a minigame. Later, it helped to propel Xbox Live Arcade to great success. The controls were simple,...

This is definitely worth picking up if you aren't going to get frustrated with the controls too easily. If hard-to-get-used-to controls get on your nerves easily, though, skip this game and go play it on your 360 instead.

Geometry Wars: Galaxies Wii Review

It's been two years since the Xbox 360 launched, and one of its most addictive downloadable games was this little title called Geometry Wars from Bizarre Creations, developers of the Project Gotham Racing series. This little arcade style shooter had...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies is about as good a sequel as we can get to what originally was a bonus mini-game in Project Gotham Racing and then eventually a downloadable $5 game. While the $40 price tag is lower than many first-run Wii games, some will...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies Nintendo DS Review

Terrific expansion of the Geometry Wars franchise; multiplayer options; the addition of Geoms and unlockable galaxies are awesome

Touch-screen control can be quirky; occasional slowdown stalls the game's upbeat tempo

When you try to stretch out a simple formula into something more, you run the risk of alienating the fans of the franchise, as well as any newcomers who may be fooled into thinking that it's a good product in itself. Bubsy 3-D comes to mind. Hey, Bubs...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

In November of 2005, the Xbox 360 launched with a number of retail-based games. While the launch games were (arguably) solid, not all will be remembered as classics. But Bizarre Creation's Xbox L...

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

The popular 360 arcade shooter suffers growing pains as it expands its scope.

Addictive, easy gameplay; DS connection bonuses

Requires a classic controller or two; multiplayer is too chaotic; graphics too bright, not crisp enough; slowdown
