Heracles Chariot Racing

Aiming for second best and hitting the mark

Tracks are inventive and cheerful ; Appealing karts and characters ; Interesting powerups

Feels like the budget title it is ; No Helen of Troy in the looks department ; Can't compare to Mario Kart

Ultimately, though, it does seem a bit pointless when Mario’s racer is more than likely to already be a part of every Wii owner's collection.

IGN: Heracles: Chariot Racing

This package is rounded out by other kart racer requisites like a four-player split-screen battle mode -- which, again, isn't quite as compelling as Mario Kart's equivalent but serves its purpose pretty well coming from a download that just costs eight...

Because his Greek name's much cooler than "Hercules" ever was.

Heracles Chariot Racing Wii Review

Imitation in gaming is not always a bad thing and some times, by learning from the mistakes of their inspirations, they can even be bettered. On the other hand, being brave enough to copy a well regarded game is asking for trouble, particularly if the...

The track design and lack of personality of Heracles Chariot Racing sees that it isn’t as strong a game as Mario Kart is. But the two points are in no way weak, they’re just weaker than Nintendo’s game and do little to get in the way of the casual...

Heracles: Chariot Racing

There's a whole variety of WiiWare titles available to purchase now, ranging from great original titles like LostWinds to continuations of classic series like the Final Fantasy games. Heracles: Chariot Racing is another group altogether; a re-release...

Heracles: Chariot Racing is a solid, if not particularly special, kart-racing title and while it may not match up to Mario Kart Wii, it certainly offers a good value-for-money alternative.

Heracles Chariot Racing Review [WiiWare]

Good old fashioned fun

Fun while it lasts but needs more to become a classic.

Heracles Chariot Racing

It wasn't always about your Ferraris and Brawn GPs, you know. Once upon a time in Ancient Greece people bombed it about in far more dangerous - and, by extension, manlier - fashion, hurtling around in shaky wooden horse-drawn contraptions against other...

Heracles Chariot Racing is a pretty fun substitute for Mario Kart for the price, but it pales in direct comparison to the Nintendo series from which it takes many of its concepts. It's best played in multiplayer, but the necessity to own so much...

Heracles Chariot Racing Review

I just can't help it -- every time this character comes back around to stand in the spotlight again, all I can think about is that dinner scene from The Nutty Professor. "Hercules! Hercules!" Classic stuff.

Neko Interactive's previous releases for Wii and WiiWare in the States have all been localizations of the Cocoto series -- you might remember Fishing Master and Platform Jumper from previous Wii Shop updates. Heracles Chariot Racing falls in the same...
