Ju-on: The Grudge (Wii)

Touted as a haunted-house simulator, Ju-On: The Grudge is a no-frills horror game that capitalizes on the reasonably successful film series of the same name. It uses the same hook found in the movies: cursed ghouls born of a violent death that consume...

JU-ON: The Grudge

JU-ON: The Grudge provides gamers with yet another poor example of shovelware being dumped on the unsuspecting public for the Wii system. Rather than spending even a few minutes building a creative story or developing some inventive gameplay to go with...

Cheap laughs from second player trying to scare you with Wii Remote. In fact, it’s the only semi-amusing part of this “game” (quotes, and dripping sarcasm, wholly intentional)

Not scary. At all ; No substantive interaction, with environment, other characters (of which there are none), your gaming partner (who’s very likely to get bored of trying to scare you after a few minutes), or even the ghosts. And we don’t even get...

Yes, I do find children extremely creepy and intrinsically evil. But most folks don’t for whatever reason, and neither myself nor anyone else is very likely to find “ghost children” particularly terrifying (which was a major failing of the source...

Ju-On The Grudge: Haunted House Simulator

Calling Ju-on a haunted house simulator is a very good description. This isn't a game as much as it is an interactive movie. Nothing you do will impact the way events play out, nor is there any way to avoid the inevitable end to this game.

Faithful to the films; pretty darn scary

Controls are very laggy and imprecise; camera is a pain; less a game than a virtual novel

You only use three buttons; My grandma can move faster than these kids; O flashlight, how I loathe thee; Such a cruel, cruel joke

Ju-On: The Grudge

Promoted as an interactive haunted house, "Ju-On: The Grudge" is barely a game at all, much less anything else.

A good game to buy for someone when you want to show them how much you dislike them

I've yet to find a good thing about this "game

Avoid this game at all costs. If it's ever $5, it may be worth a single playthrough, but there are still many better ways to spend that money.

JU-ON: The Grudge: Haunted House Simulator

I'll take a cat boy or double-jointed gothic chick over this gameplay any day.

Chilling? Occasionally. Or maybe it's just because I'm a wuss. Regardless, JU-ON: The Grudge: Haunted House Simulator provides very little entertainment beyond the surface appeal and jump scares. The entire experience lasts just a couple of hours, and...

JU-ON: The Grudge

It's almost Halloween, and if you're anything like me, you're going to try to make the most of it. Playing survival horror games can be one way of doing that, but the way the genre has evolved (o...

Ju-On: The Grudge

Suspense horror, whether in movies or games, is extremely difficult to deliver. However, having recently seen Paranormal Activity in theaters, Ju-On: The Grudge served to be my blind hope to keep the chills coming

Ju-On: The Grudge ends up being more frustrating than scary, as terrible controls and gameplay force the player to adhere to elements of gameplay that fall very short of what can even remotely be considered fun and/or frightening.

Deep in the heart of London's bustling West End, in a secret location (so secret I walked past it 4 times) Rising Star presented a sneak peak of their latest offering from Japan - "JU-ON: The Grudge"

JU-ON - The Grudge (Wii) Review

Today we look at JU-ON for the Wii, a haunted house simulator full of key moments from the Japanese movie series.

The survival horror gaming category is packed with titles striving to bring new methods of fright to the masses, and often borrow from past successes to deliver. XSEED presents a new title for the Wii based on the popular JU-ON series of movies. Taking...
