Kirby's Return to Dreamland Review

Many Happy Returns

A classic-style Kirby game with super powers, gentle learning curve, a ton of content, 4-player mode is a riot

Art style isn?t as appealing as Epic Yarn?s

Kirby’s Return to Dreamland

In fact, Return to Dreamland is too easy for typical gamers. The lack of difficulty makes it great for children or those looking for low stress gaming. Yet, the lack of a difficulty option might prevent some gamers from playing Kirby for long. If...

Kirby?s Return To Dreamland (Kirby?s Adventure Wii) Review

The music is, as always, ridiculously cheery and upbeat though I don?t consider this a bad thing at all ? the tracks are actually far more palatable than in previous offerings, avoiding being repetitive or jarring. As with all Kirby games, the...

Review: Kirby’s Return to Dreamland for Wii

It's been a long time since we've seen a true Kirby adventure on a console. Kirby's Epic Yarn was innovative and adorable, but it was more of an experimental gimmick and lacked the inhaling Kirby and plethora of powers we know and love. The last time...

Kirby has access to over 20 powers, each power has a nice assortment of special moves. Additional players can join in as King Dedede, Meta Waddle Dee or another color Kirby. There are two mini-games to unlock. Each area is bright and colorful, with...

As with all Kirby games, it’s very easy. There’s no replay value

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Review

Kirby's return to Dream Land comes with a return to classic gameplay. Is Nintendo's pink puffball better off playing it safe? Our review is here.

Kirby is not necessarily for you or me, but for our children, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. It is a whimsical, charming adventure that has clearly been designed for a younger audience first and others second. That's not a bad thing, but it...

Review: Kirby Treads Familiar Ground in His Return to Dreamland

Great graphics and chaotic co-op redeem an otherwise by-the-numbers platformer.

Kirby games come in two flavors: Simple, saccharine platformers, and wildly innovative (and saccharine) experiments in any number of genres. The latest chapter of the series, Return to Dreamland, falls squarely into the former category. It's a...

Review: Kirby's Return to Dream Land (Wii)

Kat, Olivia, and McKinley join forces to review Nintendo's new co-op platformer. Does it live up to the franchise's high standards?

Looks great in high-definition; superpowers are a fun addition; can be quite challenging

Level design feels repetitive; co-op partners are little more than meat shields for the first player

Kirby’s Return To Dreamland Playtest – A Return To The Super NES

After spinoffs with yarn Kirby and mini-kirbys, Kirby's Return to Dreamland brings the pink hero back to his roots. HAL Laboratory made this game for Wii, but it has the soul of a lost and graphically enhanced Super Nintendo game.

I breezed past Cookie Country, Raisin Ruins (a cave area), Onion Ocean (the prerequisite water level), White Wafers (a mountain range), and Nutty Noon in a few hours. There are a few levels beyond those plus a surprise I won’t spoil here. Kirby’s...

Kirby's Return to Dream Land

If Epic Yarn was like pants, Return to Dream Land is like a warm sweater of love and nostalgia.

Beautiful visuals ; Classic feel to it all ; Gimmicks are kept to a minimum ; Great replay value and challenge ; Power-ups are always fun

Can't play as other characters in single-player ; Might not be new enough for some ; Mini-games only have three levels each ; Soundtrack is somewhat forgettable

Right. Even the most traditional Kirby games on the GBA were experimental and different takes on the formula. Save for the additions I mentioned, this is a pure, classic Kirby game. I thought it was great as it reminded me greatly of Kirby's Adventure...
