Mario Party 8 Game Review - Nintendo Wii

Like a good song that got overplayed on the radio, Mario Party 8 is simply too much of a good thing. The series is in desperate need of a revival and one can only hope that Nintendo looks at this title as reference of what not to do in the future. ...

If you are a big fan of the Mario Party series and need a good laugh

Unbalanced gameplay has computer players always winning; controls are often irritating

Mario Party 8

I'll come right out and admit this; Mario Party 8 is the first Mario Party I've played since the end of my college days when Mario Party was just released. I do remember some good times with that title back in the day of unlimited booze and time; and...

The big question still looms over the title however. Is this worth yet another version of Mario Party laying around the house. The short answer to this is – sure, assuming you know what you’re getting into. It’s not a game you’ll throw in every night,...

Mario Party 8

Part of the enduring success of Nintendo's Mario Party series its enduring proximation of the paradox of eternal novelty. Eighth time is not exactly novel, but it gets the job done. Its eternalness, meanwhile, cannot be denied.

Now in its eight iteration of Mario Party games but its first time on Wii, Mario Party 8 doesn't stray too far from the fantastically frolicsome formula of its forbears. It involves a multitude of mini-games -- short-lived, less-than-a-minute...

Mario Party 8 review for the WII

Your friends look like sex offenders

You look like a sex offender; More reading than playing; Too easy or too broken; Menu hell

In the end, you'll be elated to find you can turn off the Wii from your controller. And really, that's the big shame, Mario Party 8 can actually bring down a perfectly good party.

Mario Party 8

I was really annoyed at the game for being almost unplayable with nothing unlocked right away. A group of friends looking to go out on a whim and buy this game and jump into everything may be frustrated by this. we were in that we were so restricted...

A big disappointment in a year that is sure to have many great games released. If you're looking for something to hold you off 'til the Wii's promising holiday lineup, I'd recommend almost any other game released on the platform.

I enjoy the good times with friends and family, and what better way to do that then with a session on the Nintendo Wii. Mario Party 8 is a great title to bring out if you want to have a good sit down, laughing experience with a game. Mario Party 8 is...

Mario Party 8 Review

The Nintendo 64 was definitely a fun system. Sure, the games were expensive due to the antiquated cartridge system (60-70 bucks as opposed to 40-50 for similar PS1 titles), but the system featured all the characters we have grown up with and love to...

In the end, Mario Party 8 is a fun game that I'd recommend to most Wii owners. Note, however, that this statement does come with one caveat – if you would only be playing this game alone, I'd suggest that you skip over it and don't look back. It was...

Mario Party 8

Looking back to its humble roots on the Nintendo 64, one would be hard pressed to expect a series like Mario Party to make it all the way to eight editions. But here we are: a new console and a new Mario Party game. Who could have imagined it would...

Mario Party 8

Planning a Wii party, but you're tired of Wii Sports? It may not hurt to make it a Mario Party. Or maybe it will!

Clever board configurations; lots of back and forth momentum swings to keep people in the game

Mini-games aren't innovative or exciting; luck clearly outweighs skilled play; lame visuals
