Mario Strikers Charged (Wii)

Mario sports games are always crazy, but it could be said that the pudgy plumber's first foray into the world of traditional football in 2005's Super Mario Strikers for the GameCube wasn't quite crazy enough. As goofy a game as it was, the dearth of...

Review: Mario Strikers Charged

I don't know if this is a sequel, an expansion or a whole new soccer game with familiar characters. Next Level Games, a Canadian developer located in British Columbia, introduces Mario Strikers Charged just two short years after releasing Mario...

Mario Strikers Charged Review

Mario scores a goooooaaall! (And goes online...)

As a single player game, it provides quite a bit of arcade action and the power ups make it a challenge and if you love to play online, this will keep you busy for quite some time.

Mario Strikers Charged Game Review - Nintendo Wii

Mario Strikers Charged has a very simple story, and it doesn't try to pretend its story is more than it is – an occasional interlude between matches for single player, with an amusing news story tailored to the character currently being played as team...

If you fall in love with the fast-paced multiplayer action, you may want to keep this one around to play with your friends, or in tournaments online

Rent it first to see if you enjoy the multiplayer - if you do, buy it - you'll get a ton of mileage out of this one; if you don't, ditch it

The gameplay formula of Super Mario Strikers has been expanded upon in Charged, with a new concept known as “Charging.” Every time the ball is passed, thrown, or stolen, the color of the ball's glow shifts from purple, red, yellow, and finally all the...

Mario Strikers Charged

For several years now, Nintendo has been releasing a line of Mario-branded sports games, to mostly great reception. Game like Mario Golf and Mario Tennis pleased both sports fans and newcomers alike with a pleasing mix of elegant controls and a group...

The Conclusion: Mario Strikers Charged is everything fans of the original could want and then some. The gameplay has been kicked up a notch, and the graphics and sound have been upgraded to match. The inclusion of four person offline and online...

Mario Strikers Charged review for the WII

Super Mario Hooligans

Tackling people; Funky, funky music; Full online support

Years after everone else did it; Clever but weak gameplay; Awkward use of the Wiimote

There's an old saying, "I went to a boxing match and a soccer game broke out." Mario Strikers Charged is enjoyable on a lark, but it's a tiny baby step just to advance a single feature of the Wii. So while we've got new online play; the button-based...

Mario Strikers: Charged Review

For me, soccer has always been one of those sports I really didn't enjoy playing sim-style games of. I'm not trying to say that the FIFA series is bad or anything – it could be enjoyable at times – but soccer just felt too off for me. Maybe it's the...

In the end, Mario Strikers Charged is a pretty fun game. Sure, the AI can go from ridiculously easy to brutally hard in a heartbeat, but if you own a Wii, you probably have some people to game with. And that is where Charged really shines – the...

Mario Strikers Charged (WII)

Although sometimes generic, Charged hits far more goals than it misses. Even with a few blocked shots like the shoddy single player and generic sound, it's still recommended for any fan of fast-paced soccer action.

Unbelievably fun and exciting multiplayer; finally found that "Mario" flare

The horrid AI during the higher difficulties in single player; no chatting ability whatsoever online

Mario Strikers Charged

This isn't your father's Mario game.

Extremely engaging ; A new take on the Mario brand ; Online multiplayer ; Solid controls ; Varied environments

Abysmal on-team AI ; Friend codes and other unnecessary online limitations ; Perhaps a little too much action for those who just want to play soccer ; Limited goalie control
