Meet the Robinsons

Popcorny movie-game season is upon us (already?!) and Disney does a fine job of front-loading the shelves with Meet the Robinsons, typically derivative, mostly-hopless schlock that's going to sell well to the kiddies because it shuts them up.

Sad but true, videogames based on movies are rarely more than merchandising cash grabs. Sadder still when it's a kiddie-movie-based game, because parents who buy the things rarely care about or understand what the heck goes on in a game; just knowing...

Meet The Robinsons

Trouble's a-brewin' in both the present and the future. Only one pointy-haired hero can save the day.

It's a fun, kid-friendly Zelda clone; breaking down items to earn unlockables is fun

Wii Remote poorly implemented; costs $20 more than superior GameCube version; action is relatively bland; no multiplayer Chargeball; music gets annoying

Meet the Robinsons review

Is a game well-conceived when you take gameplay concepts from some of the highest-rated video games ever created and mish-mash them with the personalities found in a brand-new animated Disney film? Disney Interactive Studios’ Meet the Robinsons just...

All that said, Meet the Robinsons is a surprisingly capable game that will make the audience it is aimed at very happy. It’s a Zelda clone that has terrific production values and all of the film’s personality. It never came across as some cash-cow...

Meet The Robinsons (Wii) review

As light-hearted and simple a piece of entertainment software as you'd expect from a Disney licence

It’s pretty, diverse, accessible and simple, just don’t expect more than an hour of entertainment out of it.

"The kids are enjoying, so must be good!"

The kids are enjoying, so must be good! Graphics are good. Lots of in-game help if you get lost or don't know what to do next. Characters not too difficult to control for the 8-10 year olds (or the 40+).
