Metroid Prime 3: Corruption @ E3 07

Another helpful tool shown off at E3 was Hyper Mode. This is where Samus injects her suit with an energy tank (think: space steroids) and becomes powerful enough to finish enemies off in about half the time. Although the devastating weapon effects of...

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii)

It's astounding how masterfully the original Metroid Prime delivered on the promise of a sequel to its revered predecessor, because let's face it: modernizing dormant franchises, no matter how revered, usually garners poor results. Gamers are...

Review: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Samus Aran, space traveling bounty hunter first, woman second. We all came to know and love the Metroid franchise protagonist not only as a badass soldier with a cannon arm, but also as one of video game lands only positive role models for women across...

Metroid Prime 3:Corruption

Upon finishing the last chapter in the Metroid Prime trilogy, it occurred to me that I had experienced a relatively rare achievement in today's game industry. It wasn't the fact that Prime 3 is a great adventure game, the masterful use of control, or...

As a Metroid fanatic I’ve tried to stay objective with this review, but there’s no avoiding the fact that Corruption is an incredible game. The controls, the visuals, and the gameplay are so refined and polished, that Prime 3 can only find peer among...

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Metroid is a franchise that rarely needs introduction. Nintendo's sci-fi adventure franchise is known for large environments, heavy atmosphere, and enriching gameplay. Last generation, reinvention and evolution became other terms associated with the...

That said, I can deal with all of those issues. The gorgeous graphics, great level design, and fantastic controls overshadow any of the game's minor issues. Intense first-person combat and solving environmental puzzles has never looked or played...

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii) Review

Video gaming's true first lady of ass-kicking makes her triumphant return.

I didn’t write this review because I was excited about Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (I’m not even a fan of the Prime series) or because I was forced into it. I simply had to respond to all the hardcore first person shooter fans out there that were...

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

When the Wii's unique controller was first unveiled, many critics pointed to the Metroid Prime 3: Corruption demos as the ultimate selling point. Some even declared the remote and nunchuck controls superior to the much-beloved mouse and keyboard....

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

One last trip through a scanner darkly.

Unsurpassed first person controls ; Some of the most beautiful environments in gaming ; Gameplay tells the story ; Voice-acting adds a new layer to the story-telling ; Environmental motion controls are varied and fantastically satisfying

Some cutscenes are unflattering to the in-game assets ; Some people may be let down by the ending ; Some ancillary controls (map, turning speed) are a little clunky

Until someone comes up with a plausible theory, I'm calling it Dark Samus' Ship... and it has a mind of its own! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Review

Metroid Prime 3 gracefully enters the field, with an ambitious new control style and some of the most immersive gameplay yet.

That aside, let it be said that Corruption is currently one of the best possible purchases one can make for the Nintendo Wii at the moment, and unless you happen to have some kind of freakish aversion to first-person titles, there's simply no reason...
