Monsters vs. Aliens

A solid tie-in game for fans of the movie to enjoy.

Solid and creative level design ; Characters have unique, varied stages ; Lots of content to unlock ; Good co-op mode ; Solid use of the film license

Mission objective can be repetitive ; Low resolution textures and inconsistent framerate

Gametrailers decided to focus more on the negatives, while I decided to give the game more credit since it does have a decent amount of effort not seen in games like this. Plus, this is mainly for fans of the movie and families, which they should...

Fans of the movie are almost sure to enjoy the video game. It is clearly intended for a younger audience with its difficulty being minimal at best. The only time you will die is from cheap deaths falling off the level or the game glitching. This is a...

Monsters Vs. Aliens - Review

Monster vs. Aliens is in a scary category. Monsters? Aliens? No, the category to which I refer is game's based on movie licenses, a category that gets even scarier when you're talking about movie's primarily aimed at kids. After turning all the lights...

A game best left to kids who really, really liked the movie. Other kids and everyone else should look to get their gameplaying fun elsewhere.

Monsters Vs Aliens (Wii) review

The most boring battle planet Earth has ever faced…

Plays exactly like you would expect with the added aggravation of having to vibrate your hand on occasion. As ever it will appeal to children who absolutely love the film while being completely lost on everyone else.

Modern kids get bored easily. Activision clearly know this and so in Monsters vs Aliens, players take control of a different member of the monster squad for each mission and assign them their own gaming genre; Play as Susan, aka Ginormica, and you'll...

2nd player can jump in for a co-op at any time ; Great voice work ; Simple but colourful action ; Each character inhabits a different gaming genre ; Unlock art, mini-games and audio commentaries in the Monster Lab ; Different motion controls for each...

Audio commentaries don't seem to work ; You lose 2000 points when you die ; The fighting is a bit tepid ; No camera control ; Slightly repetitive motion controls for TML ; Overuse of Wii remote vibration

While you're playing Monsters vs Aliens you'll enjoy yourself because of the great voice work, tongue-in-cheek humour and non-stop action but ultimately it's throwaway fun.
