NHL 2K11 Review

Slippery when frozen.

Good movement on ice; Mini-games galore

Clunky shooting and passing; Frustrating menu; Not for the hardcore fan

2K Sports' NHL 2K11 was on the cusp of being the Wii's best hockey game by acclamation. Then EA came along and made a better hockey game for Wii. The nerve of those guys.

Funny thing about the NHL 2K series: the franchise from 2K Sports used to compete directly with EA Sports' hockey titles, differentiated for the common man only by a "K" in the title, as in 2K Sports' NHL 2

Wii NHL2k11 Review

2k Sports NHL2k11 is a Wii Entertainment system NHL style hockey game. Play mini games with your Miss, do a full season, playoff, or go for a full franchise and play multiple seasons. Use your Wii Motion Plus device to do special moves in game such as...

NHL 2K11 Review (Wii)

2K Sports made one of the more interesting decisions this past offseason by shelving the 360 and PS3 versions of their NHL series but also keeping the Wii version on the release schedule. While there has not been any official confirmation, Take Two CEO...

Road to the Cup could be excellent. Plenty of modes to give you stuff to do. Deking controls are spot on with MotionPlus

Gameplay is very below average. Game is largely unchanged from last year. Shooting controls are inconsistent

Publisher 2K Sports continues its hockey series exclusively on the Wii with an entirely new game mode and an emphasis on sharper controls in NHL 2K11. Fully optimized for use with the Wii MotionPlus accessory, NHL 2K11 features true one-to-one maneuvers,

NHL 2K11 is a big letdown compared to last year's great arcade hockey game.

The motion controls are terrible, ClassicController=fun

We have to face the depressing fact that Wii + hardcore sport games is a nonexistent combo. But this is surely the best I've seen. The Road to the Cup mode is good for families, but a few quirky minigames aren't enough to satisfy me in that category....

Last year's 2K10 was alright, as we know. This is slightly better. Classic Controller controls can be interesting

Motion controls are borderline terrible. I would rather play real hockey and fall on my arse a few times. Nearly snapped my femur in the process of a slapshot with the MotionPlus

NHL 2K11- Wii

NHL 2K11 is a solid offering on the Wii for both casual hockey fans and devoted enthusiasts. Although it will probably appeal more to younger fans, NHL 2K11 offers a happy medium between something totally cartoonish and the hardcore hockey sim.

NHL 2K11- Wii

When NHL 2K12 rolls around, I hope the design team will move away from the current grey color scheme that dominates the presentation. I realize that they're going for a snow and ice motif, but the color is really just a lifeless, ashy grey. Given how...
