Roogoo: Twisted Towers (Wii)

You never realize how important visual clarity is in a puzzle game until it's taken away from you. Roogoo: Twisted Towers starts with the age-old concept of descending blocks and moves it into a 3D space. Then, it falls in love with its own 3D-ness,...

Roogoo Twisted Towers!

The shapes of things to come

An engagingly simple puzzler ; Multiplayer's a good laugh ; Pleasant, ambient, bleepy-bloopy music

Some platforms can be hard to see ; Clunky motion-controlled bits ; Doesn't feel groundbreaking

This co-op mode is good fun, even though it can cause major arguments – as control shifts between players there’s frantic cussing as everyone has to stay alert for their turn to twist the platforms. If that sounds too stressful, the split-screen versus...

Roogoo Twisted Towers

This solid puzzler with a charming look is marred by repetition and too many gameplay elements to keep track of.

Solid puzzle gameplay ; Over 90 levels to conquer ; Very colorful style ; Impressive extra modes

Too many elements make the game sometimes confusing to follow ; Gets repetitive quickly ; Not very challenging

Roogoo Twisted Towers is a solid puzzler that might garner some fans thanks to its compelling gameplay concepts and interesting character designs. Unfortunately, its sometimes overcomplicated gameplay causes it to fall short of greatness.

Roogoo: Twisted Towers

This puzzler had potential, but a few stumbling blocks suck out much of the fun.

Many levels are challenging and rewarding ; Nice variety of environments ; A couple of clever boss battles

All too often, you can't see what you need to see ; Skydiving isn't much fun ; Lame co-op and party play

Roogoo: Twisted Towers review

The Wii has seen its fair share of party and puzzle games succeed on the system. Perhaps the ultimate one, Boom Blox, was in mind when the developers at SpiderMonk made Roogoo: Twisted Towers. Unfortunately while the two games share a cutesy art style,...

The sad thing is I've seen games on PSN and Xbox Live that both look and play better, yet this is a full retail release. Thankfully they had enough sense to give Roogoo a budget price of $30 - which is still a lot of money for a bad game. Young kids...

Roogoo Twisted Towers

Remember the childhood toy where you put the shapes in the bucket by placing the correct shape with the correct hole? RooGoo Twisted Towers takes the concept to a whole new level by adding a storyline and villains to the mix.

Easy controls, original puzzle game, many levels

Repetitive gameplay and sound, you lose interest in game play very easily

Overall, RooGoo Twisted Towers adds a unique perspective to the puzzle genre for the Wii, but it lacks the exciting and addictive nature of puzzle games. The gameplay is very repetitive and after the first level you've pretty much seen the entire game....
