Samurai Warriors 3

There have been a ton of Warriors games, and if you've played one then you have a great idea of what to expect here. Tons of characters, a short campaign, and local coop that is just as tired as the single-player are the name of the game here. If...

Multiple control schemes, light RPG leveling and weapon upgrading

lackluster online, shallow combat, carbon copy of previous games in the series

Samurai Warriors 3 is strictly for hardcore fans who already know what they're getting, or the newcomer who has yet to experience the series. It's definitely friendly for new players, but it's not going to deter the people who hate these games from...

If you're new to the series or simply didn't care for the previous iterations, then by all means stay clear of Samurai Warriors 3. Most recent action games, including some entries in the Warriors series itself, make this one seem archaic by comparison.

Its hard to recommend any game purely based on 'so bad it's good' reasons of course and I'd certainly suggest only the most devoted fans should ever consider picking Samurai Warriors 3 up at anything close to full price.

The appeal of these games isn't to be found in historical realism or compelling narrative - it's the mindless fun of hitting hundreds of enemies with a sword and watching them fall over. Also, the multiplayer mode - either in split screen or online -...

Its appeal is directly linked to just how bad a day you've had, and how many enemies you feel you need to smash. Polished, good looking and suitably grand in scale, it's hard to shake the sense that Samurai Warriors 3 is a shallow experience.
