Samurai Warriors 3

Some games are better off left in Japan.

Fair amount of unlockables ; Multiple control schemes supported ; The addition of the Murasame Castle mode

Extremely repetitive gameplay ; Muddy and bland visuals ; Boring and predictable story

In a regular beat 'em up you're at risk of dying while fighting regular enemies, in a Dynasty Warriors game they hardly attack you. That makes the mass "combat" completely dull and boring to most players. Boring is a VERY bad attribute for a game...

Samurai Warriors 3 Review

Samurai Warriors 3 is yet another unimaginative entry in a series that became outdated years ago.

Cooperative modes help break up the monotony ; Good variety of control options

Mindless combat with nearly nonexistent AI ; Overdramatic voice-overs of cheesy dialogue ; No Wii Speak support for online co-op ; Lifeless enemy animations and blurry textures ; Slow camera makes finding your way around a chore

There have been a ton of Warriors games, and if you've played one then you have a great idea of what to expect here. Tons of characters, a short campaign, and local coop that is just as tired as the single-player are the name of the game here. If...

Multiple control schemes, light RPG leveling and weapon upgrading

lackluster online, shallow combat, carbon copy of previous games in the series

Developers Techmo Koei have taken a risk by allowing Nintendo exclusivity with this one. But it's a risk that may well have paid off.

Nice graphics and interesting dialogue along with the historical accuracies and strategic elements make this more than your garden variety slash-em-up

Combat can get monotonous and it can be quite easy to get lost if you're not paying attention to the map

Great fun on the Wii.

Well there's four-and-a-half hours I'll never get back.

If Nintendo wanted to follow the success of Monster Hunter Tri with more Japanese games in English markets, they’ve picked the worst possible game. Samurai Warriors 3 is flawed in every department and fundamentally is terrible when it comes to...

Samurai Warriors 3 Review (Wii)

The latest in the Samurai Warriors franchise makes an appearance, an appearance only on the Wii. For Samurai Warriors 3 has been secured as a Wii exclusive by Nintendo. Must be a special game then. Well that's what I thought having never played a...

You may not have noticed, thanks largely to continual critical and commercial failure in the West, but Koei's series of Dynasty Warriors games are actually insanely popular in their Japanese homeland. With countless titles across all branches and...

There are a couple of additional moves to play with should you really feel the need to delve. A tap of the '-' button calls up your fighter's spirit to do some work for you while a charge attack gives your kind of super powered shoulder barge through a...
