There's a wonderful scene in the Soulcalibur spinoff Soulcalibur Legends. It's so wonderful it exists in a universe wholly separate and distinct from this existence, possibly on a distant and foreign plane where people wear socks on their hands and --...

Soulcalibur Legends

The Wii Remote swinging works, but that's not enough to make this a legend.

Wii Remote controls help immerse you in the action ; Fast pacing makes the game easy to play in short bursts

Lack of variety beyond the typical hack 'n slash fare ; Repetitious and unimaginative environments ; No cooperative gameplay in story mode, just a handful of side missions

Soul Calibur Legends Review

Has Soul Calibur jumped the shark? If this game is any indication of what's to come--absolutely.

Soul Calibur Legends isn't a horrible game; it just doesn't add anything exciting or new to a third person action adventure genre. It's over relatively fast and it feels more like an unlockable to the original Soul Calibur than a standalone full priced...

Soulcalibur Legends

Soulcalibur games are huge meteoric releases, and while fans salivate for Soulcalibur IV, Wii owners were given a spin-off title to fill their cravings. While initially really excited by this title, the more details came out, the more hesitant I...

Another look at the world of Soulcalibur, with a decent amount of background for the other games ; The Wii remote controls work well

however they barely use any of the buttons, which could have added the complexity this game needed to be more engaging ; The game lacks the essentials spark of life that makes it feel like a real game

This is essentially just a side quest in the series, and it feels like it cannot stand on its own. There needs to be much more polish on a game than developers put in.

why sell the wii, maybe it doesent put out as many titles yet, but i got 7 already.

I'm really f'ing sick of developers throwing Wii gamers crappy titles with familiar logos slapped on the front of the box. Yeah, it sells games, but it also demeans their entire franchise that they built from the ground up.

Namco is no stranger to expanding fighting games into other genres. You only need to look as far as the Tekken series for proof of this. Back in 1998, Namco released the PlayStation version of Tekken 3 and it had a new gameplay mode, called Tekken...

Soulcalibur Legends

Would have been better served as bonus content in a REAL Soulcalibur title.

Legends has a bit of depth, but even by today's standards, 10 levels just aren't enough for a fifty dollar title. You'll blow through this one in a few short hours and there is little reason to go back, with the exception of with a friend in co-op...

If you've been fiending for a mediocre action game with a popular franchise name on the front of the box, then have I got a game for you. Of course, you probably weren't really that excited about Soulcalibur Legends anyway, and that's likely because it...

In the end, this game tries to evoke the fun and charm of Soul Calibur and backs it up with the signature Renaissance-era style and operatic music, but the mostly text-based story and dull, tiresome combat with the same few enemies over and over really...

Soul Calibur Legends review for the WII

In need of a .45 caliber lobotomy.

Randomly waving wiimote ≠ gameplay; Poor storyline; Lousy multiplayer; Weak weapons; Meaningless special moves
