Summer Athletics Review

The Beijing Olympics are over now but as always, watching them was an amazing way for couch potatoes everywhere to vicariously experience the thrill of being a world-class athlete. I mean, it's the only way it'll ever happen, right, since the most...

Overall, Summer Athletics isn't a horrible game but it suffers the lack of creativity its ho-hum name implies. While the Wii controls make it relatively entertaining, it makes us beg for more: more events, more stats and customization and more sound,...

Summer Athletics - Wii

Thanks to the 2008 Beijing Olympics the track and field genre has hit overdrive this year with developers taking part in their own competition as to who can create this summer's most impressive sporting title

Get ready to sweat!

Control issues mar what could have been an Olympic contender. Stick to Mario & Sonic.

Summer Athletics

As a less than full-price release and with half the events being fun and accessible, anyone looking for a realistic athletics game on the Wii won't be too disappointed.

Some excellent motion controls ; Swimming works really well

Some of the events aren't great ; Lacks the charm of Mario and Sonic

While many of the criticisms of Summer Athletics can also be levelled at Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, SEGA's smash hit athletics title has a colourful, fun appearance that allows it to make the odd mistake. Despite its perfectly serviceable...
