Guybrush hunts for meaning among the mermaids

Strong puzzles ; Funny writing ; Fantastic new villain

Fantasy elements don't mesh well ; LeChuck is pathetic ; Won't be funny for everyone

Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 2 - The Siege of Spinner Cay

Episode two has historically been a challenge for Telltale—and understandably so, as the novelty and seemingly limitless time allowed to polish and perfect the initial game in a given "season" gives way to the crushing pressure of having to turn around...

Great voice acting helps amplify the strong dialogue writing; beautiful animation and character design; begins very strongly and ends even stronger

Feels significantly briefer than the first episode; generic three-part fetch quest softens the middle section; puzzles feel a tad artificial at times

The Siege of Spinner Cay is very good, but doesn't quite make the series great. I continue to enjoy every minute with the TMI episodes, but know that there is stronger comic momentum that can be attained.
