House of the Dead Overkill Review

This time, make the house your bitch!

Light gun games have always been fun in the past because there were so few of them on previous systems. With the Wii, light guns have become more of a stand but like everything else on the Wii, there's so much crap you have to wade through to get...

Battlestations Pacific

Battlestations Midway impressed wannabe midshipmen by giving them reigns of a navy and letting them orchestrate battles. For the rest of us, the lack of compelling combat had us praying for shore leave. Battlefield Pacific picks up where Midway left...

House of the Dead: Overkill

Today's massacre brought to you by the letter F

Accept it for what it is, though, and House of the Dead: Overkill manages to become a ton of fun. The classic formula of “zombies explode into bloody chunks when you shoot them” works its usual magic, and the lengthy levels are well-paced with hordes...

House of the Dead: Overkill Review

Way better than the Uwe Boll version.

Excellent, well-paced shooting action, hilarious cut scenes, a funky/dirty grindhouse aesthetic

The controls can be a bit flaky at times

In all seriousness, this game is exactly what Wii owners need. It's fun, funny, violent and tuned right in to the sensibilities of the hardcore. If you love bad B-movies, and you like shooting things, this is a total no-brainer - no pun intended.

House of the Dead: Overkill Review

What the eff is it about mother-effing zombies? We effing can't get enough of them as the endless effing stream of mother-effing zombie books, movies and games being churned out every effing year will attest.

House of the Dead: Overkill is a lot of fun and looks good but I'm not convinced it's worth the $50 price tag. It's quick to pick up, has considerable replayability and is a much-needed dose of mature content for the Wii. However, it's extremely short,...

House of the Dead: Overkill - Wii review at Thunderbolt Games

House of the Dead: Overkill is the anti-hero of modern day videogaming - a reckless vigilante hidden away and shielded from the PG-13 generation swinging their make-believe tennis rackets and cooking their imaginary three course meals. It stands...

House of the Dead Overkill

The Wii seems like the perfect console for light gun shooters, one of its main functions is the IR sensor, but, with the exception of Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles, we have not had a well produced game to test this out. House of the Dead fans...

House of the Dead: Overkill - Wii

Video Review: Overkill is an Understatement

This game was great with the Nyko Perfect shot attachment. After playing it like that, I can't imagine playing it with just the wii remote. Its a wonderful arcade experience to share. The enemies are crazy looking at times and the campy style...

The classic on-rail shooter returns to Wii, but with something of a re-invention...

We loved every minute of House of the Dead: Overkill, but that's precisely the problem, it's a game that literally is, over in minutes. Considering that Headstrong Games re-invention is superbly written and portrayed while offering solid on-rails...

Product Specifications

The House of the Dead: Overkill charges you with mowing down waves of infected, blood-thirsty zombies in a last-ditch effort to survive Bayou City and uncover the horrific truth behind the origins of The House of the Dead. Survival horror as it's never been seen before! A pulp-style take on the classic SEGA light-gun shoot 'em up franchise. Back when the famous Agent G was still fresh out of the academy, he teamed up with hard-boiled bad-ass Agent Washington to investigate stories of mysterious disappearances in small-town Louisiana. Little did they know what blood-soaked mutant horror would await them in the streets and swamps of Bayou City.
