The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest (Wii)

Recapturing the sense of heroic adventure that made the Lord of the Rings films such a huge success is no easy task. But in Aragorn's Quest, Headstrong Games has managed to do just that, crafting a game that feels like a reverent tribute to the source...

Screw Frodo, it's time for Aragorn to be the star of the game.

I had mixed feelings playing this game. On the one hand, I was playing as Aragorn, a really great character with lots of back story and one of my favorite characters from the movies. On the other hand, the very simple combat system, dated graphics and...

The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest

I'm a bit of a nerd anomaly in that I've never really liked The Lord of the Rings. I've tried to get through the novels (and movies, zing!) a couple times but the drudgery of the massive aimless battles and nigh-impenetrable continuity minutia put me...

Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest

Can the epic fantasy that is Lord of the Rings work as an action adventure game on Wii?

Creative re-telling of the Lord of the Rings story ; Fun co-op mode ; Lots of side-quests

Awkward aiming controls ; Repetitive, derivative gameplay ; Tiring motion controls ; Troublesome character and enemy AI

If anyone is wondering, the PS3 version is a quick port of the Wii version. The motion controls via Move in the PS3 version are on par or worse than the motion controls found on Wii.

Sneaky little hobbitses.

Epic battle scenes; Strong AI; Mounted horse combat

Dull and inconsistent storyline; Useless item collecting; Irrelevant characters; Thrown in dialogue

The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest

The Lord of the Rings is a franchise that's faired moderately well in the video game space with games like Return of the King and LotR: Online taking top billing. Headstrong Games and Warner Brothers are taking another swing with the release of Lord...
