Tournament of Legends Review

Have you ever wondered who would win in a fight between mythological from history? How would a battle between a Valkyrie and a Minotaur end? How about a fight between an Oni (Japanese Demon) and the queen of the Gorgons? Well, here's your chance with...

Tournament of Legends

The Wii is well known for a few of its high-profile fighting games, but otherwise the console isn't exactly a haven for the genre. Everybody knows about Smash Bros, which is an unorthodox fighting game at best, and just this year we got the fantastic...

Tournament of Legends has a lot of good ideas but it falters a bit in execution. Still, it's a much higher quality game than most Wii budget titles and it has some honest creativity and heart behind it. For $30 it's a solid buy and a quirky companion...

Mess

Some fun might be squeezed out of the title by playing with a friend

The game is a mess from top to bottom

Matters are not helped along by the mediocre graphics, terrible voice acting or a cheap final boss. The game features some of awful texturing and the animation is often clumsy looking. The voice acting is some of the most cheesy I have heard in a game...

It doesn't matter whether you play this one with motion controls or the Classic Controller: Tournament of Legends is not a good fighting game. As I played through the campaigns to unlock all the characters, powers and weapons, I just couldn't shake the...

Tournament of Legends Review

A Pleasant Reminder of Days Gone by

Nailing an enemy with a steak and watching a lion pounce from off-screen

Trying to pull off the QTE inputs for some of the special moves

Honestly, Tournament of Legends reminds me of nothing so much as the Mortal Kombat series back before it became a slack-jawed, pantsoiled parody of itself. There's an extremely similar sort of earnestness and tone to Tournament?the action is...

Tournament of Legends Review

We wish it remained Gladiator A.D.

To be fair, fighting games don’t really work on the Wii. SSBB is one of the few exceptions and even then anyone with half a brain uses the GameCube or Classic Controller, making it something that doesn’t really take advantage of the Wii’s capabilities....

Maximus pain.

So often in history it has fallen to the 3D fighting game to establish the appeal and capability of a console in its formative days. Tekken communicated the pace, pluck and glowering J-cool of Sony's PlayStation; Virtua Fighter bespoke the sometimes...
