Wii Sports Resort (Wii)

In a way, Wii Sports Resort and its included Wii MotionPlus accessory represent an admission of failure on Nintendo's part.

This review is based on a retail copy of the game provided by the publisher.

Look like a dork, and have fun doing it.

Great party game; Wii Motion Plus makes it far better than its predecessor

A few fairly weak mini-games; not nearly as much fun playing on your own

Da plane boss, da plane!

Wii Sports Resort, in no small way, tells you that you are playing a Wii game from the moment you start the game. First time players will, instead of finding a menu and title screen, find their Mii sitting in a plane wearing a parachute and goggles,...

If you're itching for a holiday and have a few friends who want to tag along, then you should definitely drop by the Wii Sports Resort.

Lots of mini-games ; Excellent, intricate controls ; Great fun with friends ; Accessible for all age groups

Lacks lasting single-player appeal ; Requires extra MotionPlus accessories for multiplayer

And it's the overall accessibility that makes Wii Sports Resort a must-have. Just as the original Wii Sports was a great showcase of what the Wii Remote could do, so too is Wii Sports Resort a great advertisement for the capabilities of the Wii...

Wii Sports Resort

Wii Sports sold more consoles for Nintendo than any other title, and now Nintendo look to sell even more with Wii Sports Resort showing what the Motion Plus add-on can do just like Wii Sports showed what motion controllers were capable of.

Yet another 'off the couch' game from Nintendo - Huge range of games on one disc

Table Tennis is very poor compared to the original Wii Sport Tennis - WiiMotion Plus should have been around when the Wii was first released

Anyone with a Wii would be mad not to pick this up. Try and track down the Double WiiMotion Plus Adapter deal, then looks around for the EA Tiger and Tennis sets and you have three games and four adapters! Plenty to keep you going!

MotionPlus and the Wii Sports sequel are finally here, but do they live up to expectations?

Wii Sports Resort

With its broad appeal and simple, intuitive controls, Wii Sports Resort will have everyone up off the couch having fun… Wii guarantee you'll love it.

The Wii MotionPlus definitely ups the entertainment and realism stakes; loads of new sports to try; a great ‘spectator sport

A few of the activities are too repetitious or frustrating to encourage repeat showings; you will need to invest in at least one more MotionPlus to play some of the multiplayer sports

Pimped-out Wii-motes FTW!

Wii Sports Resort Review

The original Wii Sports is “the best selling video game of all time”. However, those numbers are largely due to the fact that it is a game packed in with one of the best selling consoles of all time.  I have no doubt that Wii Sports Resort will sell...

While there are a lot of missed opportunities in Wii Sports Resort, it is pretty fun as a whole.  Much like the first Wii Sports, it is at its best when mucking around with a bunch of friends.  It is a relatively expensive proposition however and the...

Wii Sports Resort

About two and a half years ago, gaming changed, signalling an end to the days where sitting in your 'Laz-E-Boy' chair, eating Wotsits and sipping milkshakes were the norm. All of a sudden we had to get up, move around and actually work physically to...

Ten brand new sports ; Improved Bowling and Golf ; Motion Plus makes the controls so much more accurate ; Island Flyover ; So many addictive games

Getting used to Motion Plus controls can take time ; Motion Plus add-on required for every remote you want to use

Wii Sports Resort has so much to offer. It will take ages to get old, as you can unlock new game modes and difficulties. Everything about it is right and exactly what we hoped for - Nintendo have done it again. Just when we thought they couldn't...

Wii Sports Resort [Wii] Review

Featuring 12 sporting events and plenty more.

12 sporting events; some with sub-events; Great for multiplayer, even playing on your own is fun; Lots of replay value; Some events show off the MotionPlus nicely; Stamps give more incentive to replay and retry

No online modes; Annoying when the MotionPlus needs to be reset; Choice of “Resort” sports could have been better
